Wednesday or Thursday would work for me especially if it is in the Knox/Henderson area. :) I have wanted to go to Abacus for a long time even if it is a little rich for my budget. How much would you estimate for the cost?

Here is a menu link.

I would say appetizer, dinner, dessert with one cocktail plus gratuity will run you between $75 and $120.

The best bang for your buck by far is the chefs tasting menu - nine courses - which is what we did when we had the FT event there in 2003. Its $70 (plus tax/gratuity) or $95 with wine pairings. The wine may be the most generous part of the whole thing... we had folks who ended up (literally) under the table (or so I was told).

Its not a "dine there weekly" kind of place... but they've had me coming back again and again since they opened. The food is just that good.

Since my contract was okayed and signed, I'm in a celebratory mood. Abacus, Blue Goose, Applebees :p , wherever.

A friendly reminder. :)

*sigh* - I'm down to a maybe status at best. Dealing with something over in Fort Worth that is taking priority right now.

Did anyone ever decide Wednesday or Thursday? Which would work better for our out-of-towner, JohnGalt? I do want to attempt to make it if its possible - Wednesday would likely work better than Thursday for me right now but neither is out of the question as long as I can plan....

I could do either one. Where are we going? And, what time will we get there?

So far we have:

Studley
Boilermaker
tech girl
3ata
John Galt

Full of questions today...although questions are better than what I'm normally full of!

Are we going tomorrow then?

techgirl Jun 14, 2005 5:03 pm

I've made a reservation for five tomorrow evening at 7:30 under my name.

If you don't know my name (and plan on coming to dinner), please PM me.

Sounds like a plan to me. :)

boilermaker Jun 15, 2005 9:57 am
