edited to add: oops... I didn't read your post right above mine, O2K!

That's okay, Traveller, you are not running for TalkBoard so you are free to stay on the low road.

Of course, after O2K's use of the particularly vile term "connecteria" -- which would result in her immediate ban from any decent Italian-language bulletin board, I hardly think she is in a position to say anything.

(Of course, if she is involved in connecteria the position she is in will definitely not allow her to say anything.)

I may just go order the clear one.

Me, too. Although, I normally have great success with suede boots, Having said that, the last time I wore my boots in the rain I fell and tore my medial collateral ligament in my right knee. I just might wear those clear things, after all.

All this talk of boots and rain just made up my mind.
If it rains while in VCE, I’ve decided I’m wearing nothing...

All the time, or just when you are posting, or just when you have visitors to your room?

Right-- Macho-man. I know that you have asked Marco to reserve personal unbrellas for you and the lovely Mrs. Cholula

Dovster--are you actually sleeping?

Hard to believe that Dovster did not respond to the last several posts. Is it possible that he actually sleeps?

Californians! They can never realize that the whole world isn't on PST. It is 8 am here, why should I get some rest?

This and that....

Automatically-generated translations never fail to crack me up! I was totally in stitches over that translation of the Vini da Gigio website! :D :D :D :D :D

Upon looking at the original website in Italian, I see one of the key problems is the mistranslation of the word "sala." Yes, it CAN mean "it knows it" (or "he/she/it knows it"), but in THIS context, it OBVIOUSLY, to any human being with a brain, means "room." So, if you simply substitute "room" (Italian sala)for all the occurrences of "it knows it" and "know it," and substitute "rooms" (Italian sale) for all the occurrences of "knows them," you solve at least half the comprehension problems!

See, the premises is divided in two "rooms," NOT two "knows them." One is a room smokers and the other is a room not smokers. Get it now? :D

And on another topic, those adorable rubber boots ARE awfully cute. BUT rubber boots can be HEAVY and HOT. Your feet will sweat buckets in them. So, you'll have wet feet anyway! I think I'll stick with my waterproof socks!

Hello all, I have emerged from the shadows where I have been lurking on this forum. I am Lili-dui's unnamed friend, who is proud to announce I will be joining her, and thus all of you, in Venice.

I will be taking the train from Milan on the 19th, departing with Lili on the 25th (6:50 am LH 4093/LH 454 arrive SFO 12:30 pm). I am staying at the Ai Mori with Lili and Aunt (yes, I am Lili's son).

Look forward to seeing you all there!

Xavier9, welcome to FlyerTalk and wecome to the Venice Meet.

I am glad to be able to give you a name. After having Lili-dui, Lili-dui's sister, and Lili-dui's unnamed friend, I thought I would have to redub you three Lili-uno, Lili-due, and Lili-tre.

I'll be on the train from Milano the day before you and I look forward to meeting you in Venice!
