I don't know what you are referring to. I used the same hardware in Italy, Switzerland, Israel and America.

I haven’t traveled to Italy before but in Germany, for example, they don’t have the same phone plugs that we do in the US. You have to use an adapter, which plugs into the modem socket on the wall, and then you plug your modem cord into the adapter.
Doesn’t sound like this will be an issue in Italy.

Appreciate the info but I usually post to FT in the nude. Not sure they’d appreciate that in the Internet cafe......;).

Okay, now I understand. Yes, the Italian wall sockets are different from the American ones, both are different from the Israeli and all three are different from the Swiss.

In most private homes, however, you can take the line out of the phone and put it into your laptop. In most hotels, you can plug your line into the phone itself.

Dovster,

Wireless is considered broadband. The only connection we've discussed that's not broadband is dialup.

Okay, let me restate it: I know they have either cable connections or wireless but I am not certain if they have both.

They would if you looked like Johnny Depp :)

Dov, what was so hard to understand about this?:

It knows it smokers

The premises is introduced divided in two knows them, in before, that near one the counter, can sit down the smokers.

It knows it smokers is introduced in two fields, that inside and that back the windows.

It knows it not smokers

The premises is introduced divided in two knows them, in before, that near one the counter, can sit down the smokers, in an other knows it, inner of the premises, not the smokers.

Delicious room furnished with taste and attention to the particular knows it smokers is not one.

The small tables of close know it not smokers to the windows.

Small tables for private suppers and lunches can be reserved, but also for appointments of transactions. E' in fact possible to reserve anticipatamente knows it it and to agree the menù with the Lazzari family.

In a delicious game of lights knows it not smokers, produced from the Morosini spiders, recalls to the mind the scent of the sea.

Maybe Dov has some real problems understanding English :)

No. I only have problems understanding Italian.

For example, I never could understand what those "Vietato Fumare" signs mean.

I'm talking to myself!

There are spiders in the sea in Venice?

Nella sala non fumatori un delizioso gioco di luci, prodotto dalle lanterne Morosini, richiama alla mente il profumo del mare.

In the non-smoking room a delicous play of lights, produced by the Morosini lanterns, brings to mind the scent of the sea.

(Okay, so it doesn't make too much sense that a play of lights can remind you of an aroma -- this is Italy.)

Was just about to panic reading people bringing their lap-tops until I read this. Thanks for the info, ob2k!

(Am also extra thankful that Cholula is bringing his own! Whew! :D )

Actually, belle3388 I am aware of about 4 internet cafes in VCE. One right at the Rialto, another near the big Cartier store (notice my points of reference :) ), another in Piazza San Stefano and the one in Canarregio on Strada Nove (this internet cafe is directly across from the great linen store, where I bought the best down-filled duvet and lots of towels). If one is looking for a great down-filled duvet, look no-further. It, truly is light as a feather (pun intended) and yet keeps you very warm during those cold winter nights. I have seen these in the U.S. for triple the price...even at Bed, Bath and Beyond. If you get hungry after the internet cafe, across the street is my favorite "nosheria." (Great take-out food). "Nosheria" is my made-up word. Perhaps, Dov can give a better translation.
