Dedehans, you can sign up for the free dial up access from www.tiscali.it. The whole site is in Italian but I will be happy to help you if you don't understand it. You will need an Italian address and telephone number, but this is no problem. Simply get the address of any place in Italy (hotel, whatever) and put in something similar. Do the same for the telephone number. Tiscali has one access number from all of Italy and it is the price of a local phone call. |

Do the rooms at the Ai Mori have high speed internet access? Also, Dovster posted a free subscription to some internet service a while ago....can this be posted again? I agree. Restaurant looks great. The reviews were very good except for one BAL who said it was "mediocre". On the Internet connection, if there isn't high-speed, you can go with Dovster's suggestion or check online with your ISP for local dial-up numbers in VCE. I checked Earthlink...who I use worldwide...and they list the following local VCE numbers: 041 555 0900 VENEZIA MESTRE CHIOGGIA, ITA 041 511 0900 VENEZIA MESTRE DOLO, ITA 041 473 0900 VENEZIA MESTRE MIRANO, ITA 041 459 0900 VENEZIA MESTRE MOGLIANO VENETO, ITA 041 587 0900 VENEZIA MESTRE NOALE, ITA 041 535 7701 VENICE, ITA Thanks... |

You mean we don't have broadband? I have Verizon dialup, I'm sure they don't have a local # in VCE.

Vini Da Gigio website
This is a google translation. It gives a nice overview of the restaurant and specifically addresses the issues of smoking and non-smoking . The translation is a bit confusing

http://translate.google.com/translat...lr%3D%26sa%3DG What can I say? With that choice, I'll take the smoking room every time! |

I will, however, get my revenge upon you for this act of inhumanity. I am going to whisper to the waiter in Italian that you want all your food smothered in Ketchup! |

I already have the plug-adapters for Italy. And a surge supressor to prevent an electrical surge from blowing out my PowerBook. Ms. Everywhere....I can practically guarantee Verizon has local International dial-up numbers for VCE. Earthlink has 560 numbers for Italy alone and, as you see above, a half dozen just for VCE. Word of warning on International dial-up. Your US ISP usually surcharges you $6 or so per hour and most European hotels charge by the minute for local calls. So you don’t want to be writing and posting the third installment of your RTW trip report while online in VCE. Download your e-mail, disconnect, answer it, log back on and let it rip. Plus you’ll also want to log-on to FT occasionally to tell all the folks back home what a good time they’re missing...:)> |
Just thought I would let you know that there is an internet cafe not far from the hotel. Prices are very reasonable and connections are very fast.
