For dessert, they have settled on green salad!

That was no accident, Dovster....I was bored and decided that "busting your chops", so to speak, would be great fun!! And it has been!! ^
O2K has not even seen my e-mail, she and i haven't been exchanging the menu selections back and forth, etc. After your BAL e-mails about the cost of the meal, and knowing that you don't like "normal" things like seafood and green stuff, I thought I would publish a phantom menu.
Little did I realize it would work so effectively....:D :D

Ahhh...what fun! Now I must find something else to occupy my time this afternoon.....

And when, do you presume, I did not realize that?

As I said in my letter to you, "Vengeance is mine, sayeth the Dovster." :)

Before we scare everybody away from the Meet:

1. The Euro 100 price that I quoted was per couple, not per person.

2. The restaurant does, indeed, have red meat and other things that human beings can eat.

3. O2K is not really and truly a seriously warped person. Cholula, of course, is.

4. I still like that alternative restaurant.

I just read a fabulous review of the "meet" restaurant on a web site called Slow Travel. I do not know how to copy it & post it, but my mouth is watering already.

We have 7 people on the "Possible" list. Based soley on their lack of activity on this thread, I am presuming that four of them (CAWhite, Dan1431, RCS85551, and RKT10) don't see their participation as very likely.

Of the others, SanDiego1K I would consider "probable". I know that Indufan would like to come but still is not certain about his schedule and Stimpy would like to make it but also is not certain if he will be able. I also don't know if Stimpy would come to the dinner alone, with his girlfriend, or with his girlfriend and five children.

Click here for the link to this fine restaurant. You will need to scroll down midway to see the review of Vini da Gigio, our Saturday meet restaurant.
Although I was somewhat kidding Dovster on my earlier post, this does seem to be a seafood restaurant. The article raves about the smoked eel, local crab, scallops and the specialty of the house....YUMMY Dog Fish!! Doesn't get any better than this, IMHO!! ^^
About the only choice for non-seafood eaters is rabbit. And you have to wonder where they get the rabbits on an island that is pretty much underwater....
Buon Appetito!!!

Are there options for folks who really prefer vegetables?

obscure2k Oct 26, 2004 8:29 pm

[blilli-dui[/b[ I am just going to ask you to trust me. No-one knows or loves VCE as I do,. Glad to have the opportunity to meet members of your family.

Punki if you are serious, really serious about vegetables, please go to the Rialto. Another option, is renting an apartment in VCE
www.VCE-Rentals.com This worked for us. We bought fresh vegetables every day at the Rialto Market.Near the hotel, AiOriente is near a lovely fresh market place. You will salivate as the vendors dissect the fresh artichokes; the tomatoes from Sicily are divine. Relax and enjoy!

The best restaurånts in VCE focus on seafood. I also have to say that the best Osso Bucco I have ever tåsted was at Vini Da Gigio. The veal shanks were beautifully cooked and served with a soft polenta.
