I bought an air ticket. :) (I had already booked my room at the Ai Mori d'Oriente quite some time ago.) I'll be there for seven nights: arriving Thu Nov 18 in the midafternoon, leaving Thu Nov 25 in the morning.

I am interested in opera tix if not too expensive -- one ticket, maybe $150 max??? Maybe even a little more than that? It may not be possible to find any as "cheap" as that, I realize. ;)

:) I'm confirmed! -- When I read that title I figured that Kathy either had her appointment to the U.S. Supreme Court approved by the Senate or else had a religious sacrament a little later in life than most people.

As you might well be getting there before Monitor, may I suggest that you get to the ticket office before he does and beg a lot. Tell them that the ticket is not for you, but rather for your sister, Violetta, who is dying from tuberculosis. With any luck, they will be touched by your story and hand you the two biglietti they had been saving for for the Pope and his wife.

You can then sell them to a distraught Monitor for enough $$$$ to pay for your entire trip.

I wonder if our Dov can put together the flight numbers of those arriving on the 18th, for purposes of taxi-sharing.

While most people who are coming have given me this information, for some reason the Nov 18 people tend to be rather secretive -- only Dorlee and Leonard have told me.

I am also arriving on Nov 18, but will be getting there on the ferrovia Milanese (better known as the Milano Choo Choo).

My flights are on UA (SFO-FRA flight 900; FRA-SFO flight 901) and LH (UA codeshare; FRA-VCE UA flight 9086 & VCE-FRA UA flight 9058). I got the roundtrip for $595 all-in. It is in booking code W, which is eligible for upgrade with SWUs AND for the double-EQM promo, so it's well worth it. That's double EQMs on the UA-operated legs. So, more than 23,500 EQMs for the whole roundtrip, which will get me within 1,000 EQMs of 1K. :)

Kathy arrives at 13:30 -- 55 minutes after Leonard and Dorlee.

They might want to arrange some way to recognize each other, as 55 minutes on an international itinerary is nothing. If one plane is a bit late or the other a bit early -- or if there a delay unloading baggage -- they might well be in VCE at the same time.

Kathy, this is great news that you are coming. I look forward to meeting you. Unfortunately, Dovey dear is a little off on our arrival time. We arrive in VCE at 5:10 P.M. (or 17:10). That would make an awfully long wait time for you, but we are happy to share a water taxi with any other F.T'er who wants to.

That reminds me that I should go on the AF website and make sure they have not changed any of the flight times.
