Yikes! I had to check my emails with Raffles to be sure I had booked the right date - and thank goodness, I have. We've got a group of 6 booked in the Billiard Room at 4:30pm on the Sunday of our SIN Run weekend.

They appear to have changed to a traditional British menu, with what they call three tier service - but I am sure it will be very good. And we have the fun of being in Singapore's most historically reknown hotel. (There's a story about a tiger being found under the billiard table in the room where we'll have tea.)

The price is an affordable 25 Sing Dollars. That's $15 US.

Welcome, prncss674 and chemist661.

I'm a maybe too. Let's see what AA has available for me. Is anyone possibly going in on AA, JL or CX?

Edited because AA not always = AAdvantage

FYI people, did a qick looksee after a convo I had in chat and most city pairs I have seen are a wee bit high, but SAN-SIN via flights 930, 869 outbound and 800,890 returning is kicking out at $713 in V class as of today. (Dates are out 1/15 back 1/19)Elsewhere on the west coast it is high.

If there aren't two more who are dying for
the tea at Raffles, I'd be very happy to go,
as the only thing I've ever done there is
have one of those Hawaiian-punchy things at
the Long Bar. I have no plans at all for the
weekend other than what people are talking
about as part of the "do."

Also, would anyone be interested in dinner
in (say) Monterey Park on the 14th? A sort
of dress rehearsal for the main event.

Put me as a maybe for the afternoon tea, assuming I can squeeze myself out of the usual sunday family dinner.

Looks like our tea group is closed. I've added violist and ws8n. Great group, I'm looking forward to it.

Count me in for dinner.

I booked my trip to SIN about 3 weeks ago to inaugurate my newly comped status on UA, and I just found out about this event. As it turns out, I will be there around the same dates--arriving late 1/14 and departing early 1/18.

Having just found FT a couple of months ago, this will be my first chance to do one of these events. It's also my first trip to SIN. I booked it more as a "going to someplace I've never been" trip than a MR.

Flying Buccaneer,

Have you added to the dinner list. Welcome Aboard!

I currently only have your name listed on the dinner list as your itinerary slightly earlier. Happy to add you details to the Itineraries page as well though if you send me details. We shall feast on crabs together either way. Your call. Also, will you be meeting us at the Conrad before dinner for an aperitif?

Best,

Mike

I just got email from the Conrad with a room rate I don't see on their website.

Classic room for one night includes Buffet Breakfast for two S$188+++. Valid from 1 December 2003 to 31 January 2004, except Christmas and New Year's Day. And from 19 December 2003 to 2 February 2004, book a Second Night or Second Classic Room inclusive of Buffet Breakfast for two at S$100+++.

Probably the best way to book it is to email the hotel at [email protected].

If you are going to stay at the Conrad for 3 nights including Sunday night, then the best rate is on the website for S$180 with 3rd night free. (Credit goes to violist for spotting this rate.)

You may count me as a probable. I'm just putting together a RTW now. I'm looking forward to it.

zvezda,

This thread slipped off my radar for a second there. In any case, hope to see you there and keep us updated as to your plans. Have added your name to the webpage now also.

Best,

Mike

Hi all. Just stopping by & reading some of the get-togethers I can't make. As noted on pg. 1, I'll be in New Zealand at the time of this do (and hopefully using mjm's dolphin cert), but looks like fun. And hey, airfares still ok, so maybe I'll come over for a do later. Have a fab time!!

Thanks to the generosity of a pair of
FT colleagues, I am confirmed in Biz
on all legs except for NRT-SIN, for
which I am on the priority waitlist.

My seats, for the benefit of anyone
interested in an onboard party on the
Flyertalk bus, are:

LAX-NRT 16H
NRT-SIN 30J
SIN-NRT 11A

Again, I'll be at LAX the night of the 14th,
so anyone up for an outing to, say, Monterey
Park for a dress rehearsal, let me know.

What was your fare? I am still pricing out fares at about $1000.
