Looks like CO's cheapest is now $3800!!!! (with NW at $1711 !!) Hopefully they'll come to their senses and have a fare sale in the coming month. I'm sure if a sale occurs, some quick thinking FT'er will post it immediately.

PS-Mike, I've changed my hotel for Sat night to the Conrad Hilton (cxl the Ritz), so I'll meet up with all in the lounge there.

so would this be a fun event for someone (like me ) who doesn't drink much and can't eat seafood??

considering I would have to do it in coach to do it at all?/

but now that I've made 2P for 2004 (or will..on miles and the 9K from great offer) I WANT TO KEEP IT!

You'd fit right in...there isn't much drinking at FT events.

Kev,

Got you and your cousin noted on the maybe list on the website. Hope you can make it.

prncess674,

Have also added your name to the maybe list and hope that the fares behave and we can welcome you to our little feast in SIN. Been a while and would be nice to catch up.

mauld,

Have noted the hotel change and have also added your name also to the pre-dinner meet list at the Conrad.

squeakr,

Well worth it in my mileage fogged brain. I would recommend using every avenue available to see about finding a sweet spot to get yourself into C class for at least the SFO-NRT-SFO legs. The NRT-SIN-NRT part is not bad in coach, and I will be there to prove it.

In SIN there is a wealth of food choices and although we are headed to a seafood meal that night, I imagine (if memory serves we had satay chicken and some other meat as starters last time) we can order some non-seafood just as easily.

I suspect the drinking part is likely to happen much later after dinner if it happens.

Think about it and drop a note if you want further info.

Mike

squeakr:

I'd be glad of more company on my search to
fill the never-fillable stomach [g].

Please show up, Mr. squeakr too, if he's up
for the rigors of transpacific travel in
coach. I'm going in coach, and if I can do it
anyone can.

I think we're going to the Jumbo seafood
restaurant by the water; I don't know the menu
there, but other Jumbo restaurants have a good
selection of roast poultry, pig dishes, and
so on.

In general, you can eat quite well without
ever touching anything with fins or shells.

Is anyone going there on UA on a CDYMBH fare?
If so, e-mail me.

Hi,

I am very tentatively planning to attend my first FT DO, if I can fly down to NZ and find an award seat from AKL to SIN on the right dates.

So if you wish, you could put me down as a very tentative attendee. Would love to meet all of you!

It looks like Sean and I will have to wait until the last minute on this.. but will leep you posted. I think we can manage economy class on this route esp. given what I've read about the design errors in CX's new regional business class.

Well I just booked this fun little weekend. Comming in on Thursday Jan 15 on the UA flight from NRT. I will be leaving on Monday 19 Jan back to NRT and MSP Upgraded on all legs except NRT-SIN. (Now all I need to find are some sweet spots or hope that the 1K SWU's are in the account by then.) Look forward to this.

Staying at the Orchard Hotel from 1/17 to 1/19. Won bid on priceline.hk. Used bonus money posted on flyertalk to further reduce cost.

Paying about $37/night after bonus money for a 4* hotel. I do miss the 50% UA coupon last year where one can get the Conrad for about $55/night. (lots of posts on FT on that one!)

Put me down as a definite maybe

Love to do it but have to see if I can juggle my schedule (and does anyone have one of those 15% off or a Sweet Spot - might be able to do a 2 swu for one ss if I can make the trip)

If anyone emails me I'll be in SIN over the next 2 days so have email but then I'll be on a small island (atoll) with no email for 10 days...then another atoll with ? email until Dec 4 - so if I don't get back to you right away please understand.

Last year was great fun! Squeaker - AIR - I had a glass of wine - others had a beer or two - but by no means was there a lot of drinking Now I didn't go to the later get together (too full and too jet lagged - or is that too old?) anyway so I can't speak for that.

UA_Eagle,

I would be very pleased to put you down as a very tentative attendee. I look forward to putting your status to "Confirmed" in the near future as well. Happy travel planning and post here or e-mail when you are set and we will see you in SIN.

GK and Sean,

You have contact numbers in SIN for a few of us so right up until the last minute is just fine. A good platter of chili and pepper crabs will give you the stamina needed to host 20 or 30 guests in HKG a few weeks later.

MSY-MSP,

Welcome aboard! Looking forward to meeting you in SIN. I have added your name and some of your details to the website now. When you have a second, e-mail the balance of your flight and hotel details and I shall add those more completely to the site straight away. See you in SIN.

chemist661,

I have now added your details to the website. Looks like you got an outstanding deal. See you again soon.

Mike

Tried pricing itins for this trip and fares aren't cooperating What kinda fares are you folks finding from the west coast? For a normal routing, it was pricing in the upper 900 range and that's not even an H fare
