I would also like to take this opportunity to welcome all of the recent new members to FlyerTalk. |

or someone who reants sound equipment!! anyone know of one? thanks :) |
Well, here I am having read the boards for a while and posted a little bit, but have yet to introduce myself. So here goes...
Almost 31 and I've just relocated to to MLB after a decade in BOS in the music business. I became addicted to travelling when I got the opportunity to tour with a few bands. A new city every day - very exciting when you get to see more of it than just the parking lot of the venue you're playing. I have to give thanks to gleff for introducing me (wether he knew it or not) to this site and to the rest of the FT'ers for all I've learned from this site in such a short time. I've already got my first award trip (almost - return leg left to go) booked for myself and another, mostly with miles I've earned by following tips here. I'm stuck working locally now, but any excuse to get away works for me! |
Hi-
I'm new to FlyerTalk, mostly a lurker since I don't have much expertise, and don't get to travel as much as I'd like....yet! Right now, bargains are a little more appealing than points and miles, at least on my current income. I live in Colorado, 25 years old, graduated from South Dakota State University... Go Jacks! ....Anyone?? no? :D I work in magazine publishing, (with a Sociology/Crim Justice degree!!) Just your average country girl from the sticks...! I'm not currently attached, I love horses and rodeos, and my main hobbies are drawing, writing and reading. Most people consider me a "jack of all trades," since I have a lot of skills in a variety of areas- I can cook, sew, handle a gun, and work on my own car. I'm aspiring to live on a farm/ranch somewhere in the midwest, and go back to school for a master's in Counseling or Clinical Psych, and hopefully be able to travel more. Hope to get to know more of y'all! |
New to FT, Reside in Seattle. Work in the Technical arena.

Hi All,
My name is Tim, but my friends in France call me "Timo". I am a Senior at the University of Wisconsin and am currently studying abroad at the ESCP-EAP in Paris, France. I have lived for 18 months in France (1 year exchange in High School, and 1 semester my sophomore year of college). I am 22 years old and will be graduating in May, and will be moving to Houston, Texas in July. I love to travel and have travelled throughout Europe. I made PLAT on NWA for the first time and will drop to a NWA nothing next year, as my job in Houston doesn't have any travel. There I will be working in the finance department at a large oil company. If anyone is coming to Paris, feel free to PM me. Cheers Timo |
From SoCal originally, got hooked on FFP's flying back and forth to school on the east coast. Live in Hong Kong now working for a sporting good mfr. Averaged 180-200k miles per year for the past eight years (half of that sitting in the back!) but this may be the first year I have to work to reach 100,000. Both from personal experience, as well as reading this forum, have become the go-to guy in my company for how to squeeze every perk you can out of the system. Unfortunately, my company travel dept can't coordinate my travel as well as I can (I even find cheaper fares!) so I seem to spend a lot of time (more than I should!) booking my own trips. At least I can fall back on a career as a travel agent if I ever have to.
thanks to all the posters here for your advice and suggestions! |
Hi, everyone, I'm 3timesalady. Been around for a few months, lurking for awhile before then, but only getting around to introducing myself now!
I'm awfully quick to conjure up conspiracy theories, so for fear of big brother, I believe I'm registered under a fake name. If I ever meet any of you in person (and I hope to!), I'll consider divulging my real one. :) I'm 29, your typical MBA-cum-consultant, currently racking up the miles and hotel points during my weekly commute b/t Chicago and New York. When not on the road, I enjoy mini-toberlones, long walks on the beach, bubble baths, and the soulful crooning of Barry Manilow. Ok, I'm so totally kidding about that last part. Except for the mini-toberlerones, that is -- them's good eating'!!! :D |

Intro
Hi, I'm Jan.....(extends her left hand out to shake with yours). Nice to meet ya!!!
I am a former airline employee (not an expert by any means) who recently left her job to monitor her home schooling son, who was falling behind. I have pretty much been in the travel industry most of my adult life, having also worked with SATO (the military booking agency). I have hopes of moving to San Antonio this year. I like to correspond on line with friendly people. I especially would like to correspond with any military in Iraq right about now. Thanks for your service! So as not to seem like I am using this as a personal ad, I will wrap this up for now. If you have any questions, if I can help you with my 2-cents, just email me... |
i'm lombardo, a writer. and i have to say some of the FTers here should have been writers instead of lawyers, consultants, and whatever else the most popular FT jobs are. there are some very good wordsmiths/humorists in here.

What impressed me when I first found this forum was that 95% of the people here can spell and punctuate properly. Probably to be able to consistently work the system of travel perks one needs attention to detail ;) |
