Hi,

My name is Rene. I'm 27 years old and from The Netherlands - I live near AMS. I travel quite frequently, more often than not to the USA, both for leisure and business. My favourite carrier is United, with whom I'll obtain 1k status this year. Favourite cities are New York, Chicago, Miami, San Francisco and San Diego.

I work for a global .NET system integrator as a senior consultant; currently in The Netherlands, but will move to one of our US offices next year.

I am the father of a 1 and a bit yr old (Dylan) and his sister or brother is due to be born late October this year.

Regards,
Rene

Hi Everyone,

As you can see from my huge  number of posts, I'm relatively new here. I heard about FT about a month ago, and have been lurking around and asking a couple of questions since then.

I'm Debi, born and bred in London England, and living in Jerusalem Israel for the last 27 years. I'm married to a Frenchman (yes, it really works :D ), and we have 3 children - 14, 12 and 5.
I'm a computer programmer by education, and my current job is QA Director at the largest hi-tech company in Jerusalem (>900 employees in J'lem, >2500 world-wide).

Since my husband and I both love travelling (in fact he's in Paris as I write), FT is the perfect site for us. Luckily my job involves a reasonable amount of travel, to different parts of the world, and we try to take holidays abroad 2 or 3 times a year as well. I must say that I just luuuvvv FF miles :)

I hope that I'll be informed, entertained and be able to inform and entertain on this site.

That's all for now.
(And if any of you worked out yet who I am, send an email my way - I promise that I'll answer)

Hi,

I'm a middle aged management consultant, who is probably a bit of a rarity amongst FT members. I wish I travelled a little less (or at least more selectively).

I do get through 200ish flight segments and 150 plus hotel nights a year which does allow me to fund the sort of travel I do enjoy (BA FIRST for starters). My wife's only complaint about this is that I keep coming home! I hope she's joking.

I am probably the airlines and hotels worst nightmare. My speciality is process excellence and when I see a broken process I feel the need to find the right person in the organisation and complain to them.

I live in a fantastic location in S West Scotland, the only drawback being distance from the nearest airport (GLA) from where most places are two flights away.

FT is a fantastic resource and I have the reputation within our workgroup of being the FF king. However, compared to many of you out there, I am but an amateur.

Peter

Hey everyone, Just wanted to introduce myself. This looks like a great place, and very happy I found it. Tons of valuable info from awesome people :)
I dont fly too too much, but it has started to pick up since my gf goes to vet. school in the caribbean. The EWR -> SJU -> SKB trip is being done by me more and more frequently hehe :)

Hi Ya'll

Hey All!

I am Tom! I live with my partner in a village outside of NYC in NJ close to EWR. I used to be a consultant with a company that specialized in retail jewelers. I now work for a small (six) stores family owned company in NNJ. I love what I do. My partner and I love to travel and used to stay current on elite status on leisure travel alone.

I love this site and have gotten a lot of very good information and find it is a tremendous resource as well as a lot of fun!

:D :D :D

I have a habit of leaving my profiles blank so people who are out to get "something" won't harass me. But anyway, I'll share my info here. If I have to add stuff to my profile just let me know.

I'm a 20 year old female (just stating that since most think I'm male due to the universal screen name) from the states. I live in Louisiana and just began traveling on December 31st of last year. My profession would be trying to make it as a freelance writer, lol. I really don't have any friends who enjoys traveling, except for two. One of which is in the marines and the other is busy with work and college, so that leaves me with not many friends at all who enjoy to travel let alone hike. So, I hope I can find many people here to discuss traveling with.

Hi, my name's Daina (pronounced like Dinah) and here's a bit about me...
Location: Bethesda, MD
Preferred airport: DCA, but often fly out of IAD, try to avoid BWI
Favorite airlines: Midwest (I grew up in Milwaukee) and United
Number of trips per year: varies. Certainly not as many as a lot of FTers. Thus far this year it's only been four, past few years averaged about 10-15. My current job does not require travel, so currently only traveling for family and pleasure.

I spend too much time reading FT, but have certainly learned some useful tips and good advice from the forums. Thanks!

BTW, lidotaja means flyer in Latvian.

I caved...

Have been lurking here for a couple of years and resist posting whenever possible as I want to win the award for longest term as member of the less than 100 post club.

Other ambitions include being founding member of the zero PM club....oh wait ! I just awarded myself that earlier, wasting my 58th post and taking me a teeny bit closer to the brink !

Anyway, I'm a stock broker/investment advisor guy.
Live about 2hrs N of Toronto in 'the scenic city'....(don't everybody google at once ;) )
Love to travel and if personal situation allows (eg, mrs anvil sez ok) then I will go anywhere.
Love collecting points (and actually using them) so am forever indebted to FT and the FT'ers for their generous contributions.
Mrs Anvil really hates to fly (kept a coat over her melon entire flight from MCO-BUF this winter as it somehow helped her cope.)...but she likes staying in hotels so she thinks that I like to go to the zoo, concerts, see friends, conferences etc when in truth I like to accumulate points & stays under the guise of having fun with the family.
I have the two best boys in the world, ages 6 (until next week) and 3(until next month)...no its true...they literally are the best.
I saw a website once called Why We Work and it inspired me to do my own shamefully lame blog to share with relatives in YVR, SAN, etc. I also am the first on earth to declare that blogging is the male equivalent of scrapbooking.
Can't say how much I appreciate FT !

Finally dragged myself away from the MR forum long enough to discover this section of the site.

Name: Brennan
Occupation: explosives engineer (seriously)
Age: 26
Live: in Tucson Arizona but work takes me to Nevada quite a bit.

Found this site after NW gave me silver elite status as part of a targeted promo. I was looking at websites talking about the perks of elite status and came across FT. A few newbie posts and a lot of reading later and here we are. Looking forward to a possible 110 degree TUS golf outing this summer.

Name is Tim, and I live in SW Virginia. I'm 44, and am a Medical Equipment Specialist for a Fortune 500 Medical Supply Co. I spent over 20 years as a firefighter/paramedic, so I kinda eased into this side of the medical business.

My corp mostly uses US Airways for it's east coast employees, so I'm kinda stuck with them. The biggest problem is that the closest real airport to me is GSO or CLT. About a 2 hour drive southeast from here. It's cheaper for the company to book me out of GSO and connect in CLT. The flight is so short, the pilots don't have time to raise the wheels!

On the upside, I get to keep all my miles. If I need to go somewhere, I just call my corporate travel office and they make the arrangements for me. Works pretty good so far.

I'm fairly new to FT, but I've had a blast so far and have learned quite a bit. Some really great folks here. I'm also getting my FT Yellow bag tags ordered today, so maybe I'll run into some of you on my next trip ^

Safe travels!

Tim

I find it ironic that I'll be posting this after Confederate Hokie.

My name is Neema, I grew up in southern West Virginia (next door to jimcfsus) and probably not too far from Confederate Hokie. I live in San Francisco, I'm a Ph.D. student studying Biophysics, and I'm planning on selling out and doing strategy consulting when I graduate (I hear McKinsey likes us science folks ;) ).

I found FT when I heard about MRs from a friend who was fuzzy on the details of exactly how they worked. If only I would have heard about them last year, who knows, I could have been US Gold!

And finally I'm a HUGE West Virginia Mountaineer fan. I think those Hokies got too scared of us and had to run to the ACC to avoid a Blue and Gold whipping!

Well, I thought I'd add my profile as well:

My name is Martin and this spring I graduated from university with a Master of Science degree in Communication Systems Engineering. Since 01JUN2006 I've been working at the Swedish CAA (Civil Aviation Authority) in NRK as a Flight Safety Analyst. My new job hasn't given me any air travel yet, but a few trips are planned for the coming months.

I'm male, 27 years of age and I live in central NRK, about 1.5 kms from the threshold of RWY 09 :). Unfortunately, I haven't been flying much at all in my life (see the link in the signature) but now that I have gotten myself a job with a decent salary in the aviation business I intend to change that ;).

Take care!
