if you ate enough fireflies would you glow in the dark?
Hello all, I have been posting for the past couple years and just recently discovered the Community and OMNI threads. I could spend hours on here and not read everything. Born 7-7-80, just waiting til 7-7-07. Planning a trip to Vegas for that B-day. Anywho, I work at a bank and go to school. I have an addiction to travel, looking up prices, booking trips for family and friends. Some say I may be wasting my time and money, but I know the people on this board know better than that. Its my refuge. Ive been to London, Paris, Rome, Northern and Republic of Ireland and countless places in the US. Las Vegas and SFO being my favorites. Will be staying in Italy for a month come February. I will be volunteering as a press assistant for the 2006 Winter games. I also worked at Mount Rushmore in SD for a summer. If anyone needs any tips or info on the Black Hills feel free to ask. I have only met one FT'er so far, looking forward to meeting more in the future. Just look for my FT tag on my baggage.

Here's flygirl:
This am not the same flygirl that posted in this thread in 1999. Her login must have expired and I scored. I work for a little known hotel company installing yield management software and training Directors of Revenue Management on how to use it. Love the job (although it is a lot of work), love the company. Most of the travel for me has been in Europe...right place, right skills, right time, when I obtained the position! I usually lurk, as my saracastic humor goes mostly unappreciated. When I'm overseas and the only TV I can watch is typically Friends speaking in French or Southpark in German, I find myself enjoying the antics of a great bunch of people who I know by a screen name. It's quite amusing...thank you. I seem to move ever two to three years...DEN to MCI to SAV back to DEN (this is all just since 2002), so even though I am a hair away from Platinum on Delta, now I have to start over w/United...same thing happend with AA moving from MCI to SAV. Thanks for the entertainment! Chris |
Hi,
just a few facts about me: I am 29 years old and live in Berlin/Germany. I work as a freelance designer in the marketing and communication business and work for brands and customers like audi, volskwagen, european union, toyota, some airlines and many advertising companies. most of my work consists of practical design, but also includes brand and communication consulting. i mainly travel for busines reasons (90% europe), but also enjoy my weekends in some nice cities around europe and the us. even though travelling has become a regular part of my job, i am still fascinated by airports, hotels and all the nice people i get/got to know!! :) |
My name is Matt. As you can see I'm OKC->NYC. Born and raised in Norman Oklahoma by an OU Professor of Microbiolgy and an Accountant, both from Chicago. Next year I'll be going to New York University to study Finance and International Business (had a lifelong obsession with travel, especially international) even though I've never been to NYC before! I have no relatives there, so it's going to be a definite awakening to the real world. The change from college town Oklahoma to big city New York will be pretty drastic, but that's what I wanted college to be: something entirely new and life changing.

I'm a teacher/actor living here in BUD as you can tell. I've lived here for 10 years, and my wonderful wife is Hungarian. She and I and are two year old son travel regularly to and from the US. (My son is great on board, he's had a Lufthansa FF card since he was six months old). We also travel around Europe quite a bit, although mostly on the many LCC that now serve our city.
I love the culture of flying and all that goes with it. Like wandering around airports. My favourites are the biggies like FRA, LHR and JFK with planes big and small from all over the world. I feel lucky whenever a layover crosses paths just right with arrival or departures of AIC, ETH (great airline) or RKA (to name a few). If any other FTers need advice on where to go or where to stay in BUD or Hungary, drop me a line. :) |
Hello all!
I'm Lady c, and I really want to travel, but alas, no one that I know shares my passion for travel. It's a wide world out there, and I want to see it all! I hope to learn more about traveling through this forum, as I'll probably be traveling alone in the beginning. I hope this doesn't sound weird, but if any 20 something females are also looking for a travel buddy, pm me! |

Matt: As someone who works in Manhattan, and has for many years, here's my advice to you: 1. Learn the subway system. It's the best way to get around. 2. Explore new neighborhoods. Every few blocks there's a new "little town" that's unlike the last one. 3. Take advantage of as much culture as you can. Even if you're not a museum person, or a theater person, or a music person, do it anyway. You'll be thankful later on. I envy you! Enjoy New York! As for me, I'm a business consultant based on Manhattan. I grew up in the New York suburbs, and still live in New Jersey (1 hour 40 minute commute by train). My travel volume varies greatly. Last year: about 45,000 miles. This year: about 2,000 miles. I love the City, and my wife and I hope to move in to Manhattan some day. We love theater and museums. Our two boys also like the city (they just don't like the trip in). |

Just some flights...
Well, just some bio, as a newcomer...
Maurizio, italian, 40yrs, manager for an US company in EMEA. Having EMEA responsibility, I fly from PSA every week... average 150 flights/yr... since 5 years almost... that amounts to some million miles I barely use ! I like LH and BA for the service, blame AZ for the frequent cancellation... have to admit AF in SkyTeam is far the best, from lounges to services... Favourite airport is LYS, where I never missed a connection, even in 15' time ! What a service !!!!!! My partner luckily works with me, same life, same flights almost, same room in hotels... we'll stop one day, wherever we want... we will have so many miles we will be able to fly back to Italy every w.e. :) |
