I've been a member for several years, but only recently did I notice and think about posting here. The prompt for that was signing up for BooDooSix, (my first FT Do) and then deciding what the heck - sign up for the Star Alliance MegaDO too, "as long as I was in Europe anyway."

I'm a family doctor who used to be a heavy air traveler when I was a health insurance executive (boo-hiss from the US crowd, I know). Now that I am back in clinical medicine and loving it, I don't travel as much. But since my dad was a pilot and I've been in the air since very early infancy, "not as much" can still be quite a bit.

I have home bases in NC and WA, and at the moment I am enjoying working temporary jobs in different locations, currently in West Virginia for the last few months. In between temp assignments, I can indulge my travel lust!

I've learned a lot here on FT, and I am excited about getting more involved.

Hi!

After hours of lurking on FT per day, I decided to finally give in and try to get in on all of the action around here! I'm a 23 year old medical student, currently living in Cleveland, but lived all over the world when I was younger, which is where my love of travel must have started. I'm originally Iraqi, with family displaced all over the place. I first stumbled on this site when I hit Elite for AC Aeroplan and tried to figure out which benefits would work the best for me, and I've been hooked ever since. I'm definitely a Star Alliance flyer as I hate splitting my points between different programs, I'd rather have them consolidated in one place. Looking forward to learning as much as I can from all of the helpful people around here.

Scared to death of flying

I'm a former regular flyer.

Did lots of jetBlue between JFK and Tampa when my family moved to Florida after a company relocation.

After last year, I have not been on a plane, and now drive between Tampa and NYC.

New here!

Hi FT'ers. I'm Brett and have next to nil in the creativity department which is how I came up with my handle name. I was born in '84 which covers the latter part of the handle. I've been reading the forums here for a few weeks now but decided to join in on the conversation now.

My home base is BWI, which means by extension DCA, IAD, or even PHL. But living about 5 miles from BWI makes it the option of choice.

In the past I've only been a leisure traveler, flying once or twice a year to TPA and maybe one or two other flights to various locations. I've always wanted to travel the world but never got that 'aha' moment of how to do it until just a couple months ago. It started with being bumped from an economy flight to ATH and being re-routed to MUC via US Airways' Envoy class. The MUC flight left a few hours after the one to ATH so I was able to go enjoy the lounge in PHL while waiting. All in all I netted about 10,000 miles and thus began (begins) my adventure here.

Just wanted to introduce myself!

Hi FT! I'm based out of PIT, and mostly fly around for leisure. I'm originally from SIN, and fly there twice a year on average which is how I've earned *G.

I'm new...I come from Hong Kong. Although I am under 18, I once worked (still working indeed) for BA, so I have huge loyalty to BA! Love this place.

Hi folks!

Hello FlyerTalk forums! I came across these forums after stumbling upon a video called Frequent Flyer on Vimeo. It caught my attention and made me wonder if this is something I would be interested in. I love to fly, but have only ever really been up in the air 20 times maximum in my life. I don't even have a frequent flyer card yet, so clearly there is some work to be done on my end.

So clearly I need to start reading up on the subject, if anyone can point me in the right direction to some amazing getting started threads it would be much appreciated.

Cheers :D

I am new to this, have flown all over but never maximized the points

I am a world traveler, but did not travel to accrue air flyer points. I wish I had married the desire to travel and the wisdom of being savvy with frequent flyer programs. I've got lots of travel on my horizon, can anyone please help me get started? I have only about 75,000 with Star Alliance, Aeroplan. What should I do next?

Thank you!
Meyton

Thought it was about time...

I think it's about time I posted in this thread. I've been meaning to for a while so here goes:

I'm currently 21 years old, my interest in FF programs probably began at around 18 and I joined FT last year and am now hooked. I currently study a Bachelor of Commerce at Otago University, Dunedin, New Zealand. Majors are in accounting and management, with a minor in business law. My degree is 4 years and I have one more year left (2010) before getting a full time job. I have a very keen interest in the aviation industry so my dream job upon graduation would be a job in Qantas' 2011 corporate graduate stream. I spend my summer all over the place, with this one being in AKL. In addition to this I am a volunteer and casual paramedic and studying for a paramedicine qualification as one of many extra-curricular activites.

Obviously being a student I don't have too much spare income to spend on gaining miles and status, but needless to say I spend much more than I probably should :p.

I am currently a Gold Elite Partner with NZ (entitled to *G benefits on NZ only) and base on QF, EK and DJ. I am also enrolled in HHonours and Priority Club (I used to work for IHG) and Hertz #1 Gold for good measure. Essentially my travel goal is to complete my first RTW in J, but that obviously requires a job and some income...
