Hello everyone! I've enjoyed this board for several months now, but I've just now decided to join. As my username suggests, I'm from Tennessee. I guess my love of travel started with trips with my grandparents and parents growing up. Now that I'm an adult, I want that love to keep growing. My current working-class income makes that more challenging, so I'm glad I found this forum!

I've got to stop lurking sometime

Hello, I'm Jacob and I'm an alcoholic, uh I mean frequent flyer. I've been lurking around here for a while and figured it was about time I actually signed up so here I am.

I'm 26 years old, from Brooklyn, NY but currently living in Washington, DC. My nearest airport is DCA but I actually fly out of IAD more frequently usually on United.

Welcome to Flyertalk Jacob! Sounds like you're a drinking man with a frequent flyer problem ;). You'll fit in great here.

Hello!

Hello all

I've lurked on here for ages but am saying "hi" now I finally joined. I've only started flying a lot on business in the past year and mainly fly BA but with some BM and *A (CO) too.

I've found this forum to be very useful in answering some of my questions, if I have any of my own I'll ask here :)

Regards

Hello all -

I have recently found this website and look forward to killing hours and hours of work time figuring out where to travel next!

I currently fly about 60k-70k miles annually, most of which is for work, and am enrolled in Alaska Airlines (MVP Gold), Hilton Honors (Gold) and Hertz (Gold). I live an work just outside of Seattle, WA and Alaska has given me the flexibility to travel on a lot of airlines to acrue points but this is still all pretty new to me.

I look forward to chatting with you and figuring out better ways to travel and utilize my rewards!

Cheers!

Okay I've been posting on here on-and-off for around three years, so I guess I should introduce myself. :)

Hi, my name is Clint, I live in Tucson, AZ and I'm 25 years old. I am the senior partner of a professional firm, and also working on my Master's in Physiology at the University of Arizona. My travel is mostly for leisure, but some for business; I would call it one of my major hobbies. It helps that I have friends and family scattered throughout the US, and also a few in Europe and Australia. Somewhere along the way (read: the first time it happened) I came to appreciate flying in F, and now I've turned into just another spoiled FTer who makes mileage runs just to keep his status. I never get over how much fun it is to nonchalantly hand whatever girl I happen to be dating at the time her F boarding pass before our weekend getaway. :D

Hello everyone, I'm new on here, figured I should start by posting here something about myself. I'm a business and leisure traveler, far more for business. I'm hoping to up my mileage so I can be elite on airline flying. I'm elite on SPG with the short time I've been with them and love it. I spend my time flying out of IAH and stick to Continental primarily. I have been lurking for a long time reading incessantly to get more info for my travels, but hope I can start adding to the content myself now. I usually travel alone so it's nice to have info about where I'm going and the right way to do it. Thanks for all the valuable information already!

Been poking around here for a while and am fascinated with flying and frequent flyer programs (obsessed?). Thought I should fill in the info here as a courtesy since the anonomity of the internet is fun but has its downsides.

I'm an IT Consultant working mainly in Windows and Networks, but I fiddle with databases and PBX stuff as well. I also own a company that imports and distributes stainless steel water bottles in Canada and Australia. I do volunteer work with bereavement support groups from time to time as well.

I live west of Toronto, and used to fly fairly frequently (part work part leisure) though with two small children I've curtailed it somewhat. I have been AC Prestige and AA Gold, but not for a while now.

Anyway, very much appreciate the (mostly) friendly (and find amusing unfriendly) commentary on flyertalk; it's my favourite time waster that also teaches some really useful information.

I've been a lurker for a while here. Wish I had come across this site during my peak flying years. I'm based out of PDX and a DL frequent flyer. Good to see so many enthusiastic flyers.

Hi all! I've been a lurker here for years... I rack up a lot of TATL miles because my life partner lives in London, while I live in New York. Before FT I was booking flights based on which airline was cheapest at the time and accumulating dribs and drabs across multiple frequent flyer programs. While I'm by no means an expert compared with many here, at least now I understand the basics-- such as having frequent flyer-associated credit and debit cards; car rentals and purchases that'll yield miles; checking frequently for programs offers (DEQM, etc.); and that paying a little more for a flight that'll accumulate qualifying miles in a single program results in a net gain. When I look back on my uninformed travel habits I can hardly believe it, sometimes! Thanks, FT!

I have been around awhile, made a run of many post on the mega do thread -I do not get to travel for work. I do however gain lots of info here. I am originally from AZ and living just south of Green Bay. Been out here close to 30 years now. I spend my time here contemplating ways of getting back home where it is warm for a short winter break!

Hello, I am a Zone Business Manager for a major healthcare company, focusing on x-ray equipment for medical imaging purposes. I live in Charlotte and manage the business for a Zone that stretches from MD/DC/DE down to Florida and west to TN and AL. Being in CLT I fly US Airways a lot but with the recent addition of FL, GA, and AL to my territory I will likely also be sending some business Delta's way.

I am currently a US Airways Club member, and would be pleased to facilitate Club access to any FlyerTalker so interested if our schedules coincide.

I look forward to meeting some of the fine folks in the FlyerTalk community!
