I think that is the weather forcast in SIN 365 days a year. It is one of the few places in the world where you can expect it to be in the mid 80's at 3AM in January and in the mid 80's at 3PM in July, it is ALWAYS in the mid 80's

Hi Mauld, we prob won't be joining the fest; but, it sounds like loads of fun! We'll be on the EWR-HKG nonstop on jan 17th. Surely, there's not more than one! Okay, folks, we love spicy foods; please explain the chili and pepper crabs! And, the proper way to consume them.....yum!

Dan - Hanging around on Sunday sounds like it could be fun.....Plans to be determined later.
Carol - I very much appreciate the offer of a pre-dinner drinks at the Conrad, but unless things have changed that I'm not aware of (and they may have, I've been out of town)....I'm planning on meeting Mauld at the Hyatt at approximately the same time.
Best wishes.

Looks like I'll be on this flight as well, connecting via UA 837. I just changed my flight this week, so I guess I'll be at the bottom of the upgrade list... And yes, I have been assured by UA reservations that I should clear the upgrade list as they have over 30+ open C seats left on both sectors.
Wonder if we can get UA to put all flyertalkers on the upperdeck

I'm not sure if I'll be able to join the FT dinner, but put me in for the RCC. Anyone else is on UA837 on the 16th?

</font>
My upgrade cleared this morning for both sectors. I guess the code "KL" in myitinearies.com meant cleared WL.

Pete, I, too, am waitlisted for my NRT-SIN upgrade. I spoke to a UA agent today who was highly confident that it would clear - but I will feel much better when it does! You have my full sympathy.

See you in NRT.

My upgrade cleared this morning on UA 881 seat 13G....Very happy

Hi all! DH and I will be in HKG & SIN around those times, as well. On CO. My 1st time in either place! Sunil, please inform me, if you possibly would; what to expect weather-wise. Also, just how "dressy" is SIN for shopping, touring, etc. Is English going to be understood by cab-drivers, etc.? Unfortunately, my only language. Thanks for any and all info. By the way, how is "high tea" at Raffles? Looking forward to it!</font>
weather-wise it rains alot in Jan. It may rain 2-3 days then the weather will clear for a few days. The good news is that its also alot cooler. Jan is my favourite time to visit S'pore. It feels much greener and certianly cooler.

Dress-wise , leave behind the tux . Its very casual , you might need a sports jacket at the Raffles.

Don't worry abt. language.

txskygal, how long will you be in S'pore ?

I'll be staying in Serangoon Gardens from Jan 18-26. If any of you are interested in getting out of the city and the tourist area's , meet me here some evening for drinks.

Congrats on the upgrade clearances everybody. Hoping that they all clear.

rbernheim,

See you in row 15, I am in 15H.

I shall be updating the webpage right up until the time we go so keep an eye out for last minute revisions. Later today I shall be adding names of people meeting in the RCC, specific details on Hyatt pre-dinner meeting location, and a slight hotel change for one runner.

See you all soon,

Mike

Are you on UA 881 on Jan 17th? I'm on 15B as well, and 15H on UA 837. We can't be in the same seat right?

mjm, I'll be joining you all in the RCC.

NOW I know what happened to all the seats in row 15! I was obviously the last to call today when my upgrade cleared - with row 15 gone, I decided to take row 22 downstairs.

Updated today on the webpage:

1) Pre-Dinner Meeting details updated for Hyatt
2) Names of people meeting at either of the two pre-dinner spots
3) NRT RCC Meeting name list added
4) Itinerary details of a couple of SIN runners updated

I will update this page until we head for SIN and possibly even after we arrive (yes I am bringing my machine if you need an FT fix .)

See you all soon,

Mike

Well, I arrived in Singapore a few days ago. It is awesome. Weather is great. I decided to head north for a few days to KUL.

I don't check into the Conrad until Friday, so will be back by then. Can't wait til you all arrive.

Can you say chilly crab

Funny that the United CTO is right across from Lau Pa Sat.... wondered why it was so popular.
