I had talked with Kempis before about doing some touring on Sunday, as he is coming from a long way away and there are some things that should not be missed. Battery Park and environs would be a good place to start (Staten Island Ferry, South Street Seaport, Brooklyn Bridge, World Trade Center all within walkable distance). Could spend the later part of the day on Fifth Avenue (St. Patricks, FAO Schwartz toy store, Empire State building), and then head over to Times Square in the evening.

How about we meet somewhere in midtown and then take the subway down there Sunday morning? Anyone up for this? VERY flexible on itinerary.

I'm New York City born and pretty comfortable getting around by subway. You can buy an all-day pass for a few dollars and hop on and off.
This sounds very intresting Tom. I am leaving on sunday at 5.15PM which mean sunday morning would be fine. Am I coming a long way? The trip from my local aiprt to Newark only takes a bit over 13 hours (all in the back of the bus )

Magic111-

I'm coming in on Thursday night, and could team up with you for touring on Friday if you'd like. I'm going to be out in the city anyway, so would enjoy the company.

Punki I'd enjoy walking across the Brooklyn bridge, count me in.

dhammer53: OK, so the bridge isn't for sale, how about the information booth in Grand Central Station?

Or there could be more snow than we have up here in Canada! But most likely should be a fine weekend, always is for FlyerTalk gatherings. Staten Island Ferry on a sunny Sunday after brunch sounds good. (And who can beat the fare?!) Thanks for the reminder about the cost of the two Museums. May try to do the Met Friday afternoon, then head down to Idylwild to join everyone. See everyone soon.

Could you bring some for me

I've been here in HOT Melboune without a single winter jacket! I have lots of them back in Stockholm. Too bad I'm going to Stockholm AFTER New York.

Just placed a bid on Priceline.com for the 23rd and 24th of March.

Offered $ 67.00 per nite plus $ 20.00 in AMEX bonus. One must access the Priceline site via the AMEX bonus link to get the twenty buck offer applied to the bid:
http://www.priceline.com/hotels/Lang...?free=amexsave

My bid was accepted. YEEEEHAAAA!

The Big Apple - here I come!

Update: Sorry doc, must have been dizzy with excitement not to have mentioned it.

My bid was accepted for the NY Hilton Millenium.

Where are you at for that "nice" price may I ask? If you prefer not to post it, perhaps you might email me! Thanks!

I will be at the Millenium Hilton as well.
Arrive Friday , have plans with my brother on Friday but looking forward to Saturday night.

I am bringing 2500 Delta skymiles certs from GP, 1000 for Catman if he promises to come back to the board and the group believes him, 500 for best joke, 500 for best previously undisclosed miles/savings tip
, and 500 for a downpayment on a Cuban cigar if avaiable.
