Is there any room for MRKEY? On my way back from India, RDURES1 asked me if I was going to the 'Do". I would love to see all of my friends and supportors..but alas it is sold out. I visited the site and when I saw who was coming..I thought I was in shock. I gotta be there...if there anything better than Catman's party this time I'll eat my Tumi backpack! Help..I'll eat IN+OUT BURGERS..I want to see my FT family! Have a great time!
I missed another one.darn!

In view of very recent events, after some considerable thought, I have decided to ask Catman if I may be permitted to cancel for the Saturday night dinner "DO." There are it seems other FT'ers such as MrKey above who are keen to attend, if any already confirmed folks cancel for some reason.
We will still be in NY for six nights at the Waldorf Astoria, and hope to catch up with many FT'ers when in town at other side events that are planned, and the Friday night informal drinks etc. Hope this is agreeable to Mark, and I am sure his dinner will be more comfortable for him and several others due to this change of plan.

Yes snake, quite an interesting way to bow out, one minute prior to the start of an FT first -- being exiled from FT for a week. The term weasel comes to mind but I don't want to offend any rodent lovers out there...
Actually, I follow Punki on this one and offer a little praise. I wouldn't want Punki to think I don't pay attention to her or that I haven't learned anything as a father of six and grandfather of 4.35! Why she insists on treating ozstamps like a child is still beyond me...
For once, ozstamps does the right thing and bows out. Thank you so much for voluntarily removing yourself from amongst us. I personally thank you for not despoiling Catman's last FT event. It was amazingly audacious for you to ever consider attending. Not to mention one of the truly classless acts of a human being I've ever had the displeasure to witness.
Well, there goes the neighborhood. Guess raeban will have to live without the WA this trip. baobab you've got mail...
May you and janejet and molsonmiler and the rest of the phalanx have a wonderful time with yourselves.
If anyone cares, you might want to read this thread too...

Enjoy your exile...

I know several people have cancelled for various reasons (including my wife and I) so I'm sure there are openings. I'm curious how many people ponied up the cash in time, but I guess we'll never know now

I won't bash anyone else for whatever they think -- and I expect others to afford me the same courtesy.
That said, I think it was a show of good faith for Oz to bow out of the dinner. I sent him a private email and told him as much. I think it was a classy move to reduce some tension during this difficult time.

Eastwest,
I just joined you. I feel greatly for PremEx
and who could ask for more than what he provided all of us. On behalf of Glen, he has helped me a great deal too by private email, and it definitely had to be by private email. Given that, they both altruistically helped me and for that I consider both of them my friends. That Guamanian blood in me won't allow me to harbor ill feelings toward someone who has taken a step to try make amends.

I disagree with the above three posters but have no problem with their expressing their views. However, I feel that it not appropriate for those views to be expressed in this particular thread. If you want to express your heartfelt support for ozstamps, please start your own thread.
My personal feeling is that Ozstamps should never had selfishly invited himself to the CMD III in the first place.
While he may have helped some people on this board, he has hurt an even greater number. The words "class" and "gentleman" just do not belong in the same breath as this person's name.

please, when the (for some) public ennemie Nr 1 does something correct (and, as it seems, agreed to take a 7 days sabbatical on 'our' board as did his 'opponent'), II don't think we should debate/question his, for once at least, late or not late, good decision to not participate. I appreciate ozstamps latest decision and thank him for that.

Yes, I agree wholeheartedly with Rudi!
And I can confirm the 7 day sabbatical for CameraGuy and Ozstamps.
And surely, having on his own chosen to remove himself, should we not simply accept a gesture of kindness on the surface of it?
I'm no doubt in a minority in not being so sure that Oz has done the "proper" thing by backing out of the Mane Event at the DO. And doubtlessly in a majority in my general support for CATMAN, who I know reasonably well and surely think of as being a friend and a very generous, classy guy indeed.
But what is the problem?
Do we not put Glen in a continual no win situation? Is it a matter of whatever he does he will be bashed? I hope not!
I just do not see any other motivation other than to try to be as pleasing as possible to other FT'ers under some very unfortunate circumstances!
Let's perhaps all give 'em a break once in a while, no?
I personally thank Oz for making the effort!

fallinasleep- Oz is Oz, and he did not only bow out of the Mane diner, but he apologized for some of his actions. I happen to like Oz and will say it openly...he has a lot of valuable info and can actually become a viable source of good deals and knowledge (again). I hope he will do the right thing. If he dosn't, just ignore him. (edited for my mis-directed action)
