And no, not Asian. French inspired I think. We'll post the menu shortly.

Hi eightblack
Is it possible that you post the menu ? :p

Thanks ^

Official Registration for The Dubai Do!

Ok, we've set up an official page for official registration for the Dubai Do!
http://www.eventbrite.com/event/1734845971

If you're a confirmed Gold - I'd still like you to register via Eventbrite, the booking portal we've chosen. All you need to do is choose if you're coming to brunch or not.

We're using Eventbrite because we need to ensure no one is out of pocket as far as the restaurant booking is concerned. The hotel is requiring a deposit of AED275 (approx US$70) per person with our booking as well as a signed contract committing to the numbers. If we have no-shows, then the organisers are on the hook. For the whole amount.

I'd like to think I'm a reasonable person, but my sense of humour will quickly evaporate if I end up being stuck with a US$5000 lunch tab.

If you have any queries at all - please do not hesitate to contact me.

Remember, lunch is optional. A sense of humour is mandatory. We also need to let Emirates know how many people are attending.

We have some great things planned. I'm looking forward to meeting everyone. Please make sure you have enough money with you to buy me a drink ;)

See you soon.

SIMON
(eightblack)

PS. Remember, that booking link is here. Deadline will be 19th June, no exceptions.

Have we to complete the quantity for the two lines ?

The Friday Brunch - Park Hyatt
The Dubai Do

If you're coming to brunch, select 1
If you're coming to the event, select 1

If you're not coming to brunch, but are attending the event, leave the brunch field at zero.

Make sense?

So what you are naming "The Dubai Do" on the web site is in fact the Emirates Day, isn't it ?

No, its for the entire event. The Eventbrite system will be used to print name tags, track attendees to both the entire event and the brunch. And yes, I suppose, to let EK know how many people will attend their day.

Even though people have already let me know their intention (ie Gold), I am still requesting people to re-confirm their attendance using the booking portal.

Hope this is clear now...

Cheers

The Big Brunch 12.30pm until we fall off the chairs

Don't eat breakfast. And bring your Lipitor. You may want to wear pants with an elastic waist band! You're going to need to have a good lie down after you finish this. If you finish at all. It's a spectacular hotel and a wonderful setting. We have our own private dining area.
http://www.restaurants.dubai.hyatt.c...urant=Traiteur

Costs:
Option A - AED375 (US$107) No alcohol option. Just lunch + free flow soft drink
Option B - AED450 (US$122) Wine and beer option. And lunch
Option C - AED595 (US$160) (The "Prospero") This is the full monty. Free flow Veuve Clicquot, unlimited "mohitos", free flow beer and wine. And if can fit anything else in, lunch as well!

Simon, a quick question: for option C above you mention the drinks are "Free flow Veuve Clicquot, unlimited "mohitos", free flow beer and wine." Then on the eventbrite page you say: "Veuve Cliquot Champagne, Kronenbourg beer, selected white and red wine & standard spirits".

So what is included in standard spirits? Just this mohito business or other (basic) mixed drinks? More concentrated booze will help leave more room for food. :D The website is not very helpful here...

Messrs eightblack and ung1,

What a stonking line up - really impressive. It is a true honour to have a brunch option named after oneself, my only regret is I'll be en route when you're all tucking in. I have since learned though the flight I'm booked on will be a party flight, so we'll all be raising a glass of bubbles in salute to you as we steam towards Dubai.

Please mark me up for the following events:
Sat: Activity day. All options sound great to me although I'm leaning towards a mix of sand, sweat, petrol, and sun burn ;)
Sat: Cocktail Party/BBQ. A tremendously generous offer by mrtdxb, it would be an act of madness not to accept. Thank you.
Sun: EK hosted event

I've now done the registration bit :)

So, anyone else flying in 6/23 from FRA on LH630? Party in F?
