TSA Week in Review: June 17th - 23rd

Got a grind to pick with the TSA.....

  • 63 firearms were discovered this week in carry-on bags
  • A pocket knife, meat mallet, mountain climbing pick and two throwing knives were all detected in a traveler’s carry-on bag at Austin (AUS).
  • Sparklers were discovered in a carry-on bag at Baltimore (BWI).
  • An electronic cigarette with a lithium-ion battery exploded next to an aerosol canister in a checked bag and burst into flames at Albuquerque (ABQ)
  • An inert grenade was discovered in a checked bag at Anchorage (ANC).
  • Throwing stars and knives were discovered at ABQ, DEN, IAH, PHX, CHS and IAH

TSA Week in Review: June 24th - 30th

Same number of firearms discovered two weeks in a row?
(tho different numbers of loaded and round chambered from last week)

  • 63 firearms were discovered this week in carry-on bags
  • Inert grenades were discovered at Houston (HOU), Pittsburgh (PIT), and Raleigh-Durham (RDU).
  • Fireworks were discovered in a carry-on bag this week at Piedmont Triad (GSO)
  • Various knives and throwing stars were discovered in carry-on bags at JFK, DSM, ORD, RNO, PVD, SGJ, SFO, IAH, FAY and CHS

Hmmmmm.... perhaps this is a visible depiction of how hugely successful the TSA has been with intimidating "tewwowists" from bringing "not allowed" materials to the checkpoint.

Hmmmmmm......

Nah, just another example of how much "bad stuff" the TSA misses...couldn't even find any this week.

Still crickets and I'm wondering if they've changed the links as I go to the last link and then look for the list of updates on the right side of the page but all i see for the latest entry in July is July 7 "Have a question? Now you can Ask TSA on Facebook"

Maybe the TSA was reading this thread and were terribly upset to find out that we missed reading a week so here's two week's worth of TSA mishegas

  • 113 firearms over the last two weeks in carry-on bags

  • Cane swords were discovered in carry-on property at New York Kennedy (JFK), LaGuardia(LGA) and Raleigh Durham (RDU).
  • Various knives and throwing stars were discovered at SFO, BDL, BOI, SAN, PHX, ORD, ORD, MOB, DTW, SFO, ORD, IWA and SNA.
