Thanks -- it's so hard to keep up with all the TSA arrests!

One of the person guilty of carrying an artfully concealed prohibited items found at checkpoints a couple of weeks ago was my brother...

Interrogated for 2 hours because of 2 bottle of wine inside his luggage...

Well.. Probably they were 2 artfully concealed prohibited items then.. ;-)

Anybody Compare Notes With Blogdad Bob?

Some quick math --

Blogdad Bob claims that clerks have found "over 800 firearms in carry-on bags" in 2011. He also says that they found 10 firearms "just last weekend alone."

So, this means that they found zero firearms from Monday-Friday. I guess I could believe this if one assumed that occasional flyers only fly on the weekends and that only weekend flyers pack heat. (I wonder if Alvin was working the weekend on that fateful day?)

If I divide 800 into 39, I get 21 guns per week (rounding up to the next whole gun.) It would be interesting to compare Blogdad Bob's statement to the total on the TSA website. I'm sure neither is exaggerated.

Of course, these totals don't include the number of guns per week which go through the checkpoints undetected.

Yikes! TSA found 20 firearms through at security? That's not good at all. They should leave the gun at home and not try to take the gun at airport. They should have more appropriate behavior at airport. I don't like to take the gun through at security. It's prohibited.

Not to nit pick, but 1 to 3 would be a 200% increase. 0 to 2 is undefined as it leads to division by 0.

Undefined sort of fits the TSA, so it works anyway.
