TSA Week at a Glance: 11-28-11 through 12-4-11

  • 4 artfully concealed prohibited items found at checkpoints
  • 27 firearms found at checkpoints
  • 1 passenger was arrested after investigation of suspicious behavior or fraudulent travel documents

27 firearms went through at security last week? Wow! It doesn't good enough at all.

Sorry, Goalie & FS and I got the TSA weekly today.

TSA Week at a Glance: 12-5-11 through 12-11-11

  • 1 artfully concealed prohibited item found at checkpoints
  • 29 firearms found at checkpoints
  • 7 passengers were arrested after investigation of suspicious behavior or fraudulent travel documents

29 firearm went through at security last week? Wow!

There is problem last Sunday in ATL and the men who forgotten his gun was in carryon bag but, unfortunately, he was arrested on Sunday.

Either the art of concealment has dramatically improved, or team TSA is on a precipitous skid.

Somebody at the TSA got to work early on Monday......

  • 3 artfully concealed prohibited items found at checkpoints
  • 14 firearms found at checkpoints
  • 1 passenger was arrested after investigation of suspicious behavior or fraudulent travel documents

Assuming the TSA spends $4 billion a year on passenger screening, last week's 18 items were found at a cost of a bit more than $4 million each.

Nice try, Goalie and I slept late in the morning. I didn't get on the computer until after 11:30am.

Oh well. Maybe there will next time. I'll try to wake up early if I can.

How many TSA employees does it take to find a prohibited item?

60,000/18= 3,333

Actually, their budget is about 9 Billion, so that would be about $9 million each! Whatever is takes to be safe!

Firearms more than doubled this week* but we are all much safer thanks to 1 cupcake being "surrendered"

*Must have been all those guns being given as Christmas presents
