How many other airports have gone to this in the aftermath of the new frisk policy?
I flew out this morning. On the main level, the lanes furthestto the left were WTMD only. They've removed the signs for First ClAss/Priority and Family, but the lanes and the WTMD were open.

Be curious to hear if they still were for you.

I asked for the manager. Her response was, "She doesn't have time to talk to people like you." No lie.

She then called an LEO over, demanded my name, BP, and DL so she could "make a report" and had me escorted out of the terminal. I told her that if I was being escorted out of the terminal, there was no need for such information, and she turned in a huff. I then went back and re-entered through a different checkpoint where the "offending" item wasn't even noticed.

I called the contact center and was told that the screeners are in complete control, and was offered a call back from the airport's customer service manager, which never came.

Absolute power corrupts absolutely.

I thought this would be appropriate.

As an expectant mom, I would rather have a pat-down. But believe you me, any hands go near my chest or lady garden area , you're going to have a TSA agent with a broken arm! I do believe that we need alternate ways of searching passengers...I wouldn't get in that xray machine!
This is a comment on the story about the NoS appearing @ BUF..

They still were for me too, so I guess 1) either the T-R had the story wrong or 2) they haven't completed the changes yet. We'll see when I fly through on the way home tomorrow.

BTW, it was not entirely clear what the different lanes were for, given that they removed the signs. That's one of the things that made me wonder if they are not done with the remodeling yet.

"I feel the way the world is today, unfortunately, you have to do it," said Mary Ann Carey, 79, of Williamsville. "I don't mind standing with my arms out."

Carey's husband, John, said he agreed.

"I grin and bear it," he said. "It's needed, unfortunately. The state of the country demands it."

But Carey said he gets aggravated when security officials search him, detect his artificial hip and then continue to search his entire body.

"I think they could use a little discretion," he said.
I wonder how Mary Ann will feel about the TSA groper bouncing her hands off of her nether-regions? How much of a grin will John reveal at the physical manipulation of his Buffalo Sabre?

This whole topic is making me sick.

Yeah, they could use a little discretion (accompanied by judgment, of course). Why are they searching Americans nearly 80 years old in the first place? Does anybody with a brain really believe that they could be terrorists? It's a total waste of resources that could be used in some meaningful way.

According to Kip Hawley, if they don't, then the terrorists will be watching, and plan the next attack with old people..

Note that the video is from late-2008. Kip was on the NBC (?) nightly news last week to defend new, aggressive pat-downs, stating that the biggest threat to aviation is a bomb carried on a passenger's body. Two or three days later: cargo.

Kip Hawley is still an idiot.

If someone could dig up that interview with Kip, I can imagine a great political-style ad juxtaposing his statement with the actual threat that materialized within the week of his statement.

BDO's stopped 180,000...none of them were terrorists...guess the BDO's aren't working

also kippy, lied in this interview "no the [NoS] machines are not capable of storing images" untrue, supposedly the capability is turned off or disabled, but they are capable.

I think this quote from Ron White is appropriate when referring to the Kipster

"You can't fix stupid."

Very true. One person on this board who claims to be a TSO clerk is adamant that the policy says THIS.

Another person at the airport who we know is a TSO clerk is adamant that the policy says the direct opposite.

Whom to believe?

It not the thought of my balls getting the attention, at my age you take what you can get, its my wife getting manhandled that would piss me off.

My protective instincts would get in and I'd shove the clerk away
