Yes, you need to charge at least $250 to the card for a minimum 2 night stay to get the $250 credit. The remaining balance can be covered with points at whatever rate that particular hotel is showing at - used to be all Edit properties had a 2 cpp redemption rate but as extensively discussed above this is not the case any longer.
You can get a 2-night stay over Christmas at the MGM in Vegas (an Edit property) for less than $250. That should qualify under the terms even though the stay did not exceed $250. |

To clarify this, it doesn't appear that one must book a stay of at least $250 to qualify to the credit, at least according to the terms for the CSR for Business.

Yes, you technically correct that you can book at Edit stay of 2 nights for less than $250, but you won't get the full credit. |

So while you can get a partial credit for a stay that's under $250 in total (if you can even find that), as SP03 noted, you can only get the full credit if at least $250 is charged to the card and that's what my response was addressing. |
So I’m trying to figure out what happens if I book now for 2026 stay but need to make a change (ie, cancel/rebook) in Jan, what will happen to the credit/points?
seems from browsing upthread there is variation in whether booking a new edit reservation, then canceling an existing results in the credit being culled back and then re-done, or whether it just balances out the transaction. given the variation, seems like we should assume any rebooking in 2026 would claw back the 2025 credit, and then use the first ‘26 credit? And be lucky if it just cancels out and does nothing? Also assume too any part of the points ‘credit’ being talked about for booking by tomorrow at the original 2 cpp would be returned as well, and you’d be liable to redeem based on the new rate? I do have an upcoming trip we’d like to use the benefit for, but dates may alter slightly. So real possibility I might have to rebook. |
I'm having the same dilemma but I'm just going to book today in order to lock in the 2 cpp rate for the amount above $250 and if I need to cancel and the credit is reversed and the points rate is 1.65, then I'll just have to eat it (and be upset about it but know that there are worse things in life). Better than not booking anything at all and letting the credit go unused.

I’m staying at the MGM Grand right now — two nights for $208 all in booked yesterday. The rooms have recently been updated and not bad for “free”. Though don’t expect much. You don’t get breakfast (which is clear on the booking page).
After waiting in line for 15 minutes to check in, I was denied ANY sort of upgrade. They said they were out of one level upgrades, which would have been a Strip View, which was simply false as they were still selling Strip Views when I checked online. They said they could sell me an upgrade however at a reduced rate… But free is free, and I spent some of my $100 credit on dinner tonight and will have more left to spend tomorrow. I used my Stubhub credit to see David Copperfield tonight (glad I didn’t pay for it), and I’ll use my $150 dining credit tomorrow at Momofuku. |

interestingly enough, my stay is at a JW, and the rate on Marriotts site, particularly with a AAA discount is about $150 cheaper for the three night stay I’m looking at. Obviously, that rate doesn’t include breakfast, which I get with this, and not the credit, so still come out fairly ahead with those included. I do get a bit annoyed with how the benefits are marketed as most of the others I get anyway as a Bonvoy gold - some as just a member. Free WiFi is considered a ‘benefit’ of the edit, really? Anyone can get that for free just signing up for Bonvoy. |

So here is a prime example of The Edit ripoff:
Madison, WI - 2nt weekend stay. No Edit hotels but Chase offers the following rates. AC Marriott = $392 all-in on Marriott. Edit = $494 or approx 30k points (.015 cpp). As Marriott Plat I get free breakfast. Hyatt Place = 18k points on Hyatt. Edit = 44k Chase UR (note Chase UR transfer at 1:1 to Hyatt). Everyone who stays here gets free breakfast To be sure these are both listed as Point Boost but not The Edit so I guess I would not even receive the $250 rebate or free breakfast Have not checked Amex yet |
Is there a way to request EDIT $250 credit? I cancelled and rebooked a hotel but the EDIT $250 credit was not credited. It was reversed but not credited back. I cannot rebook again as the rate is more than $250 higher now.:(

my plan as well. I have presumed dates, so hopefully they’ll stick.I won’t be so upset, as I know. Annoyed, maybe. I didn’t expect these kind of things to stick around forever, but thought it would be for a while longer. Sheesh!

We're (almost) in the year 2026, can't we just give all guests free WiFi regardless? At this point, to me it's like promoting that you have a (free) TV in each room, like who even talks about that anymore ??? Same should be with WiFi in a hotel. No special equipment needed like on an airplane so you may as well just give to to everyone. Just my 2 cpp ;). |

How long have you waited? It should be credited automatically (after some time).

AFAIK the credit needs to be reversed first before booking again for it to apply automatically. Amazing implementation, Chase.
