It wasn’t clear to me how it would work. Since you can pay $250 and get both $250 Edit credit and $250 from the yearly travel credit. Would this new hotel credit follow the $300 travel credit? We didn’t know before.

Also unknown was which credit it would come from first. Now we know. Edit first then the $250 hotel credit.

I appreciate your DP. I was thinking the same thing about it. Is it going to double dip or EDIT first or IHG first. I think, with Chase Travel, it could even be possible that EDIT stay at IHG does not count as IHG. It's good to have real data.

...

How can an Edit stay at IHG not count as IHG? It's either IHG or its not. And it either has the Edit banner or it doesn't.

I imagine it means "Doesn't count as an IHG elite qualifying stay" which I have seen DPs of

All Edit hotels state they are eligible for respective frequent stay programs.

My interpretation was that they're saying it doesn't count as IHG to qualify for the $250 Chase hotels credit which is for select hotels including IHG.

So the hotel is either IHG or it's not and if it is, it will qualify for that credit even if it's also part of the Edit.

Which despite Chase's statements, has not been the reality of people who have stayed.

Accor in particular is really impacted by this, as are all the Vegas hotels.

I earned Accor points.

I didn't. So YMMV.

I just don't have a lot of trust on Chase Travel doing things right the first time. I was charged Resort Fee last year when I used EDIT when it clearly said Resort Fee was included. It was eventually fixed but first time quality is clearly not something that Chase Travel is good at.

SP03 Do you know if the Edit Property credits are as restrictive as the FHR property credit? I have a Edit/FHR back to back booking. I know in the FHR thread, some properties will deem a back to back as 1 stay and not give separate credits. I don't see anything in the terms that says the same for The Edit property Credit. I just found "per booking" language.

I expect I will get the Edit Propery Credit at the Andaz for the first few days of my stay. I'm just wondering if the hotel would then say the FHR booking would not give me $100 because of the Edit booking. I was going to extend another few days using a second Edit booking and wanted to know if the $100 would be honored. I know it may vary on the property, but they are 2 different programs and I know FHR/THC are very clear with the "stay" language. I just haven't found that in the Edit terms.

Chase Edit also makes it clear that it’s “once during stay”. How a stay is defined is usually left to the hotel. Now that hotels, particularly those with lower price points, are probably used to having this conversation about $100 with FHR stays, I suspect they will apply the same definition.

If the second $100 credit is important to you either move hotel or move room (and have a different person check in).

Looks like Chase finally fixed how they post the Edit credit

I booked an NH Hotel on Jan 4 Sunday after 5 pm. My credit card transaction is showing as pending as of today Jan 6 Tuesday, but my travel statement credits meter are showing I only have $250 Edit Stays credit as of Jan 6 and $0 for select hotels credit as of Jan 6.

But, I don't know if the reverse (i.e. if you cancelled the booking) will be the same.

Which part did they fix that was previously different than this?

Previously Credit meter update after transactions have been posted.

Not mine. They updated while my transactions were pending and I knew that when it posts it would do so together with the credit posting.
