Does Chase ever skip zero-balance statements?

I have a new SWA Performance card. Its first statement was November 13, and I have the pdf. I paid the annual fee on the December 10 due date, bringing the balance to zero. Yet ten days later there is no December statement shown online. Other accounts have December 16 statements showing.

I want to be sure that Chase will not close the billing cycle before January 1. Is there any chance of that, and why is the December statement missing?

In my experience, Chase will usually skip zero-balance statements, both on-line (PDF) and paper. Infrequently, I do receive a zero-balance statement, and I have not tried to figure out why. As far as I can recall, if there is a PDF, there is a paper statement, and vice versa.

More than likely this happens the month before you annual fee is due. I believe that they do this just to give you a heads up on the fee. It also happens when there is point earning activity like referral bonuses or your yearly bonus you receive just for having the card.

It sometimes does sometimes doesn't. No reasons I could find. There are times a card suddenly has a zero balance statement when it hasn't been used for a few months. This tends to happen with Freedom. Why so? No idea.

Though the zero balance statement of the month the AF being paid, I have not seen it happened, at least not on the co-branded Marriott / United / IHG cards.

This attachment shows one page from a statement where I have a $0 balance. If you notice in the "your account messages" section it shows where an upcoming annual fee will be billed. Prior to this statement, there was no spending on this card, thus no statements for several months. I'm guessing this statement was generated to give me notice that the annual fee was coming.

2 months later I received a statement for $99 as expected. This statement also showed the 6,000 annual points to be transferred to Southwest. The next month after that I received another $0 balance statement that served no other purpose other than to show that they had received my payment. For this particular card, these 3 statements have been the only ones I have received in the last 12 months.

If my player 2 accounts were still open, I would also be able to show where $0 statements were given when referral points were awarded. This has been a recurring pattern that is pretty easy for me to notice since these cards are kept open for referrals and there is hardly any spend.

I'm assuming when you say there is no statement shown online you're talking about the pdf file. Is this still the case? I have had delays of about 3 or 4 days in the past but it is still easy to see that the statement had ended because it will show that a payment is due. You can also look at your account online and it will clearly show when your next statement end date is.

About a year and half ago I would receive secured messages every month telling me my email address is incorrect. I received emails that my payments are due in ten days and that I have made a payment. I posted a message on Twitter a while back. I received an email from someone in the Executive Office we exchanged emails for over a month. The Executive Office said these letters which include my complete bank statement are not being sent from Chase. I pointed out to the representative the addressee is Cardmember Services. I contacted another member of the Executive Office the representative called me back in a few days and told me that these letters are not coming from Chase.

I stopped in at my local branch and spoke to the Branch Manager she looked at the letter and the attached statement and said of course these letters are coming from Chase. She made a couple of calls and was going to get back me. I followed up with a letter never heard from her.

I called Customer Service one of the representative she was helpful. She checked all the setting but was unable to explain why I am not receiving my statement by emails.

You can receive an email notifying you that your statement is available to view on chase.com, but there is no option to have copies of your actual statements sent by email.

I am not receiving that notice by email. I am receiving a letter stating We recently sent you an email to let you know your online statement is ready for viewing. Unfortunately, the email was returned undelivered. The letter includes my complete statement for the month. Read the attached letter every month on one or two of my account I received a letter. I received emails and other notices on these accounts but not the ones telling me that my statement is ready for viewing.

Chase periodically tells me that an email has been rejected and asks me to confirm that the address is still valid. I do not care about the statement notices, because I have all of my account closing dates in a calendar. Have you tried creating a new email address to see if it solves the problem?

I have five active accounts with Chase. Four accounts I receive the notice A, B, C, D. I didnt receive a notice for account E. All the accounts have the same email address. Then I receive a notice the following month for Accounts E, B, C and D. I receive a letter about Account A having the wrong email address.

I nearly missed a couple of payments because I didnt know the statement were available. I do receive notices to the correct email address that the payments are due in ten days on all the accounts. I started checking online about three or four times a month. I have canceled the paperless billing. I have all my other banking and brokerage accounts using the same email address without any problems.

You can avoid this risk by using the automatic payment feature.

Without regard to how well the email address works with other accounts you can TEST using another address to see if the problem persists.

I have called the bank sent them secured mailed, visited the branch and had conversation with the Executive Office. I am going to paper statement and checking the online activities three to four times a month. I was alerted that my payment was due in ten day. I pay the statement balance in full as soon as it is posted. I dont like changing email addresses. Chase use to have a secondary email address requirement a couple years ago. My statements were being sent to different addresses. I removed the second address. I will keep the one email address and have them mail the statements. I have been working with Chase for over a year and a half about the email address. One time one of the representative said the last part of the email was list a con rather than com he said he was going to correct the address in a couple of cycles.
