Are Costco online purchases valid? Can I just load up on $1500 of cash cards and spend next year?

Very particular to me. I don't do any organic spend in these categories. So, it means buying GCs in a year that already saw a lot of GC buying. But I totally get that others thrive on these categories.

RNE, saying them's the breaks.

I thought with Walmart as an option people would buy vgc and turn them into money orders.

RNE is talking about warehouse and dept stores, not Walmart (or Chase Pay).

While, if there is any warehouse near you, you can try to get some guest pass and buy something. I checked out the Costco near me, not many GCs that I was interested, very few. It may get more during holiday seasons. The Sams's near me closed one year ago, so that option is gone.

Sometimes, some categories do not work. I did not spend much at all with dining for Discover Q3. Never want to buy any Red Lobster GCs etc...

1000 points showed up for using chase pay in transaction.
I've set up a Galaxy phone to do this stuff. Chase Pay, Samsung Pay and Walmart Pay. Skip Google Pay for now :-)
Apple Pay is much straight forward....

If I buy something on 9/30 from Costco, the charge won't post until 10/1 earliest right? Would that count towards my October purchase or September purchase?

According to a Chase rep and supervisor whose ears I bent mercilessly, it's when the purchase posts that counts. So, yes, if your 9/30 purchase posts in October, you should get the Q4 bonus.

RNE, asking you to make a small purchase and let us know.

I remember doing something similar in a past quarter and Chase used the purchase date for determining points. YMMV, of course, as it's very possible the rules have changed since then.

You get 3 months to earn the points. Just wonder why you want to risk a single day?

I normally rush to meet the $1500 maximum. I'll be taking it slow for q4.

I get quite a few cards to work on. And the Chase Pay and Samsung Pay will be some experiments.

A small purchase for the sake of knowledge is hardly a "risk."

bluegatorade, if you're not going to make a test purchase today, let me know and I'll do it. Has to be done today.
