Sapphire Reserve Annual Travel Credit
How are the dates calculated?
For cards issued prior to May 21, 2017 it was Reimbursed per Calendar year, not membership year. Purchases must be posted (not pending) by your December statement (dated any time Dec 1 through Dec 31) to be credited against current year's $300 credit. Any travel spend that posts after the December statement will credit against the next year's $300 credit.
For cards issued after May 21, 2017, it will be reimbursed by membership year.
But my 2nd annual fee is after May 21, 2017, why didn't my travel credit reset?
Because if you got your card before that date, your travel credit will continue to reset after your December statement.
Does the travel credit count as minimum spend?
Spend is spend, the credit is the credit. The $300 reimbursement is a separate item from spending requirements( the $300 reimbursement on travel, $100 Goes all count towards the $4,000 only the $450 yearly fee doesn't). You must spend $4000 for your signup bonus UR points. If part of that spend is categorized as travel, a credit will post to your account accordingly. They are separate items.
Even if you return a purchase after you've met your $4000 initial spend it will not count against your spend.
Can I get two travel credit fees if I apply in the middle of the year?
Not for applications after May 21, 2017.
What counts as Travel?
Gas Station and Grocery Store purchases will also count through 12/31/21. (See post 1521.)
The following items have been reimbursed.
Airline purchases, fees & gift cards:

Per Chase, my travel credit for 2018 is available upon the close of my December Statement 12/17. It has been a few days since Statement closing and I still don't have the travel credit available. Anyone in the same boat?
Is this a timing issue?

Could you clarify your post? There seems to be a contradiction. Did you mean your toll charges are NOT, rather than NOW, coding as travel?
Anyways, it's well known that the auto-reload does not qualify for travel in many instances. Try loading a one-time payment (not auto-reload) and let us know if that triggers travel.

Hi all! I'm planning to cancel my Chase Sapphire Reserve card in early January, but just received the $300 annual credit to spend again. The only trips I have planned have already been paid for, so I'm looking to spend $300 to get this credit. My initial thought was to purchase IHG Points - I can get 46,800 IHG Points for $299. Does anyone know if these are redeemed as travel so I would receive the credit?
Or does anyone else have any thoughts on what this could be used for that might be a better value?
Thanks!

As for what else you could use to exhaust your travel credit, the Wiki at the top of the page has a great list of options.

BTW, I'm surprised the auto-reloads are showing up as travel. I had thought only the one-time payments triggered the 3X.

If the credit is available, then a travel charge will generate a credit. I would assume it's available if your December statement has closed.

As I said in the part of my message that you did not quote, I would assume it's available if the December statement has closed.

I wonder, then, if theirs still says $300/$300 used, for example.

I'm receiving the following message in my UR portal:
$300 Annual Travel Credit
Annual Travel Credit progress information(chart shows total $300 credit already consumed for 2017 end-of-year statement)
Annual Travel Credit progress
This shows what you've received in statement credits towards the annual maximum accumulation of $300. The Annual Travel Credit will be issued for the current annual period (as defined in the Terms & Conditions) in which the transaction posts to your account. For example, if a transaction does not post until after the current annual period ends, it will be allocated towards the following year's Annual Travel Credit maximum of $300. See Terms & Conditions at the bottom of the page for additional details.
$300Received
Congratulations!
You received your $300 Annual Travel Credit this year. Your next year's $300 Annual Travel Credit will begin after your statement closing date in 12/17.*
So it's now 12/22 and my end of year closing statement was supposed to have rolled over on 12/17 yet the portal is still showing my "travel credit progress" for 2017. It's been a full week since my statement closed and according to what's seen in the UR portal, my annual travel credit still hasn't reloaded for the new year...

12/17 means December 2017 -not- 12.17.2017. Has a statement been generated in December?

Nope my statement hasn't actually been generated yet... I assumed that my statement date was the 17th of the month (thinking 12/17 referred to month and day) but it's in fact the 24th.
Hopefully the travel credit will automatically renew by the 25th as it would be nice to redeem it for our hotel stay over the holidays next week.
Thanks again!
