However, later the same day I also requested the credit by Secure Message (for "baggage fees) and it was approved. Very YMMV now but still doable. 2/10/2017
Southwest Airlines GCs work fairly easily. I've generally bought them for $150 and said they're excess baggage fees.

I do wish I could find a workaround to get this card. I have to wait until September to get a personal Bonvoy visa and then wait a year to PC to Ritz.

Same here. Stupid 5/24 is forcing me to wait until June 2020 to apply for Bonvoy. It was this or WoH and I picked WoH for my final 5/24 slot.

Is the global entry fee credit still working? Does it matter how long has it been since the last one? Mine was 4-5 years ago but I am not quite sure...

Has anyone who previously had and canceled Marriott Bonvoy, then applied for Marriott Bonvoy, been able to more quickly convert to Ritz? Thanks.

IME, Chase won't let you product change any card you've had for less than 1 year. Having had the same/similar card in the past would not be a factor.

I have the old SPG AMEX card (now called Marriott Bonvoy Card from American Express). For me to get this Ritz card, I will have to cancel SPG or PC to Bonvoy Brilliant. Wait 30-days and apply for Chase Bonvoy Boundless. And finally after a year, PC to Ritz. Ritz card benefits are good but I am not sure I want to go through the process to try to get this card. A lot could have changed in a year such as not be able to PC to this card anymore or some benefits reduced/removed.

But we can't predict what future holds. You have to do something, or get nothing.

In light of the recent CSR devals, ritz has all the same travel protections which are great, $300 credit, plus a 50k cert. I'm going to drop the CSR and keep the ritz, I don't plan on paying marriott a dime on this card, but i will pay that $5.60 fee for flights. Extra priority passes...

Citi Premier 3x TY on travel, as broad as CSR. BofA Preferred has 2x on travel, and it can get to 3.5% CB if you are top tier. BofA also has biz cash card with 3% CB on travel category. 1.75x if you are top tier. Then it gives you 5.25% CB on travel. That is the best.
