What's the difference between the Ink Bold & Ink Plus cards?
Ink Bold is no longer available. It was a charge card (pay balance in full each month), but it has been discontinued and many accounts were converted to Ink Plus cards with the same account numbers.

Ink Plus is a revolving credit card. It allows you to earn and redeem Chase Ultimate Rewards points (including transfering UR points to air/hotel/rail partners).
What are the best current Ink Plus offers?

The Ink Plus card is no longer available for new applicants. There is a separate thread for The Ink Business Preferred card.

Links for non-targeted Ink Plus 60K offer ($5,000 spend/3 months; annual $95 fee not waived)
There is a report of a 70k offer for the Chase Ink Plus available only through your local Chase Bank office, extended to August 20, 2016. If you recently accepted the 60K offer, you may be able to get the extra 10K simply by asking for it.

There is a no-fee, UR-earning Ink Cash card: https://creditcards.chase.com/ink-bu.../ink-cash-card

Are there special earning categories?
Yes. You earn 5 points per dollar on the first $50,000 spent annually at office supply stores, and on cellular phone, landline, internet, and cable TV services. (Sirius XM Radio also qualifies.)

In addition, you earn 2 points per dollar on the first $50,000 spent annually at gas stations and for hotel accommodations when purchased directly from the hotel.

NOT ALL Ink cards earn the 5x and 2x bonus categories above. Not "Old Ink Bold" that earns 7,500 bonus points for $25,000 spend, 15,000 points for $50,000, and 25,000 points for $100,000 spend.

Where can I find the Ink Plus Guide to Benefits?
What are the rules for transferring UR points to other users or to my own air/hotel/rail accounts?
Closing Ink Plus cards
It is possible to pay the annual fee for the Chase Ink Plus business card, then close the account and get a refund of the fee up to 6 months after it was charged. This provides a total of 18 months of earning up to 5X points for free. Make sure your points are transferred out (either to another UR account owned by you or a spouse, or to an air/hotel partner) before you close the account.

Went to pick up some GCs at Staples today using my Ink card, which I've been doing every so often since January. Cashier told me the register said "alternative payment required," which was confusing since I do this all the time, and also because this was a small charge (under $200). So I used my Citi Premier card which I'm still trying to hit the 50k bonus on. By the time I got out to my car, I had received a text message from chase asking me to reply with "1" if I had authorized the transaction. So I did, then a moment later I got the message saying that I could now have the merchant re-run the transaction, but by then it was too late. You live you learn, I guess. Surprised this hasn't happened to me before now. I'm really not sure what set off the fraud alert since I do this all the time and this was a small dollar amount.

That & much more info is in the wiki for http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/chase...solidated.html. (BTW, I see no reason to have two identical "consolidated" threads. Close one w/pointer to the other?)

Just received notice on changes to my Ink Bold card. There is now a set credit limit. There is now an option of carrying a balance.

Same here just got it today. New charges after 8/31/2015 will be treated as a regular CC with monthly payments possible. Also credit limit they assigned me was very reasonable.

I got the same letter today- it pretty much now mirrors the Plus card starting August 31, 2015. Instead of a "flexible" limit, it's now a fixed limit. Which was always crap. I always capped out right below the limit they ended up giving me as a "credit access limit" anyway. Just nice to have it formalized now as a "credit limit".

TOC said APR is 15.24%- 11.99 + prime and 0 fee first year, then $95.

They matched my limit on my Plus card, so now I basically have 2 "Plus" Ink cards with dueling high limits, except my Plus card is a Master Card and my Bold card is a Visa, which doesn't suck.

At least now I don't have to worry about what to do with the Bold card when they phase it out. This solution is totally ok with me and eliminates any desire to play app o rama to get a Sapphire anytime soon.

Same letter. According to Chase Ink rep who I spoke to, the first year after the conversion will be annual fee free :-)

So, is there going to be any real difference between the Bold and the Plus, save for the name?

how many days do you have to get the annual fee reimbursed once it hits your account for ink?

No, only Visa vs Master card in most cases.

Chase Ink Cards -Summer 2015 onward

I just got a notice that my chase ink bold card is getting a set credit limit at the end of august and that I can now carry balances and pay interest. So basically they are turning my bold card into a revolver it seems. Everyone else getting the same message? This may make it more difficult to explain why I want to app for a chase ink plus in the future when I already have the bold card though, since my big argument was that I want the ability to carry a balance.

Same - some more posts discussing it in the "other " Ink thread, FYI:

Same- just got waiver for the coming year on retention call - only have the Bold, not a Plus, so wondering if I'll be able to get a separate Plus (+ welcome offer) or if they will consolidate them eventually.

I am wondering this too. I have the bold card and was planning on applying for the ink plus. I think it may be a bit harder to explain to chase why I need the ink plus now given these changes.

Also wondering credit reporting, etc - even though as others have mentioned there was a "less formalized" upper limit - AMEX does this as well on charge cards - the non "Credit" aspect of the card was appealing.
