What's the difference between the Ink Bold & Ink Plus cards?
Ink Bold is no longer available. It was a charge card (pay balance in full each month), but it has been discontinued and many accounts were converted to Ink Plus cards with the same account numbers.

Ink Plus is a revolving credit card. It allows you to earn and redeem Chase Ultimate Rewards points (including transfering UR points to air/hotel/rail partners).
What are the best current Ink Plus offers?

The Ink Plus card is no longer available for new applicants. There is a separate thread for The Ink Business Preferred card.

Links for non-targeted Ink Plus 60K offer ($5,000 spend/3 months; annual $95 fee not waived)
There is a report of a 70k offer for the Chase Ink Plus available only through your local Chase Bank office, extended to August 20, 2016. If you recently accepted the 60K offer, you may be able to get the extra 10K simply by asking for it.

There is a no-fee, UR-earning Ink Cash card: https://creditcards.chase.com/ink-bu.../ink-cash-card

After being denied, how long should I wait before applying again for the same card?
How long should I wait after closing my card before applying again for the same card?

Are there special earning categories?
Yes. You earn 5 points per dollar on the first $50,000 spent annually at office supply stores, and on cellular phone, landline, internet, and cable TV services. (Sirius XM Radio also qualifies.)

In addition, you earn 2 points per dollar on the first $50,000 spent annually at gas stations and for hotel accommodations when purchased directly from the hotel.

NOT ALL Ink cards earn the 5x and 2x bonus categories above. Not "Old Ink Bold" that earns 7,500 bonus points for $25,000 spend, 15,000 points for $50,000, and 25,000 points for $100,000 spend.

Where can I find the Ink Plus Guide to Benefits?
What are the rules for transferring UR points to other users or to my own air/hotel/rail accounts?
Closing Ink Plus cards
It is possible to pay the annual fee for the Chase Ink Plus business card, then close the account and get a refund of the fee up to 6 months after it was charged. This provides a total of 18 months of earning up to 5X points for free. Make sure your points are transferred out (either to another UR account owned by you or a spouse, or to an air/hotel partner) before you close the account.

Novice question: I work for a small company that does not offer corporate credit cards. However I frequently have to put legit business expenses for the company on my personal cards and the company reimburses me afterwards.

Does that qualify me to apply for an Ink card?

You can always open a business account if you have any kind of business whatsoever but I dont think you can open a business credit card under your startup unless they have authorized you to do so.

You can open a business credit card account with your own name as the business name. Do not add any extra words or makeup up a business name, just First Name, Last Name.

You may then use that card for reimbursable business expenses.

Do you only ever intend to get one business card from Chase?

Because even you could do that (which I don't know), I would think it would look very suspicious to Chase if you did this pattern:

Apply for Chase biz card # 1 with your name as the business name
Change business name of Chase biz card # 1
Apply for Chase biz card # 2 with your name as the business name
Change business name of Chase biz card # 2
Apply for Chase biz card # 3 with your name as the business name
Change business name of Chase biz card # 3

etc

Why does it matter so much to you what the business name on the card is?

Chase business card applications have two fields:

Legal Name of Business
Business Name on Card

Do we know if Chase seeks to verify the second field, or could one apply using FIRSTNAME LASTNAME in the first field and a made up name in the second field?

Yes, but you need to understand that getting approved for a business card is often easier by pretending to not have a business (ie, using you own name, your own address, your own phone, $0 sales, 0 years in business, 0 employees) than giving info for a real business, especially a new one.

Give info for a real business often = get grilled about the business, need to verify business income and business address etc, etc.

Give info for "no real business" = get approved anyway most likely, with none of that

So with all of that in mind, what is so important to you about having the business name on the card?

Not sure, but it would not surprise me if Chase made the process very painful. I have a sole prop for a business. My business is legitimate. I have had two chase business cards. My business name on my current business accounts is for sake of the example is something like: Barber Shop of S. Smith. I had cards with that name on them for years (it was first initial only because the old apps would not give me enough room to write out the full name). Recently I applied for a new card. Same exact business but on the app I put Barber Shop of Steve Smith. Chase demanded verification and would not use my other business name to verify even though its still my social security number, same business address, same phone numbers etc. Because it is a sole prop the only document they would accept is a DBA which would have cost me $250 to get and I don't need a DBA for my business to begin with. They were totally irrational about the whole thing, so I waited 30 days for the application to die and reapplied using the name Barber Shop of S. Smith and sure enough the verified and approved the card. The point is that Chase can be a real PITA with this stuff. For my very first card I had to get a letter from my landlord verifying my office address and then get grilled about my business including the extent of my advertising of all things. No other lender has busted my chops as much as chase when it comes to business cards.

Personally, I think it's irrational to list a name that you have no legal ownership of on a financial document that asks for your Legal Business Name. The only Legal Name associated with the tax id you provided is Steven Smith or whatever is on your Social Security card. Would you put someone else's name on your personal application for credit? That would border on identity theft, no?

Ultimately, you were sort of "grandfathered in" by using a name that Chase already knows from a time when they were less strict about this.

Just last week, I opened a Chase checking account in the name “Steve [Smith] Bicycle Tours” —— which matches the Ink card I have had for years. Yesterday, my branch asked me to drop by and sign new papers because the “back room” was insisting that I had to use DBA in the name. Fortunately, they haven’t asked for any documentation or verification.

I have the Chase Ink Business Plus card. It looks like the card is no longer offered, my expiration date is 08/22. I wonder if Chase will eventually try to replace this with a different card? I get some great points value with this card.

Huh? Identity theft? What are you even talking about? Its not somebody else's name on the credit application. That comparison makes no sense whatsoever.
