https://www.chase.com/personal/credit-cards/british-airways/rewards-redemption/statement-credit
The calendar year restriction means that you can use it twice in the upcoming months, 3x on or before Dec 31 and 3x again after Jan 1 or a total of up to $1200.

Avios can be combined or moved between Iberia and Air Lingus accounts.
Chase also offers sign up bonuses on Air LIngus and Iberia co-branded airline credit cards. (As of August 2019's offers both are tiered 100K Avios offers) This allows big spenders that are under 5/24 to get up to 300K in sign up bonuses, plus combine points to book at BA.com for flights and get the fuel surcharge refund and 10% off.
See the BA forum and this thread in the Chase forum for Avios earnings strategies: https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/chase-ultimate-rewards/1980400-anyone-else-racking-up-avios-points.html
Spending $30,000 will earn a Companion Fare "Travel Together" ticket.
Details are here: https://www.chase.com/personal/credit-cards/british-airways/travel-together/travel-together
Downgrades: Chase offers a no fee BA card. It's not available for new applications but can be accessed via a downgrade from the standard, $95 a year card. When the annual fee comes due you can downgrade/ product change to the British Airways rewards credit card with no annual fee and thereby preserve your card number, credit line and Average Age of Account. It's unclear whether the fee free card will get the new perks (August 2019) of an award fee rebate. Perhaps someone with the fee free card can make a dummy booking and update us here at FT.
Q. Can I apply for this card and earn the bonus after doing so previously? How long do I have to wait before reapplying? Should I call if my application is held for further review and not approved instantly?
A. See the wiki and related discussion in Applying for Chase Credit Cards, 2017 onward
Q. Once I meet the card's initial spending requirement, how soon will I receive my signup bonus points?A. Bonus points typically accrue at the close of the billing period in which you incur the corresponding charges. Points should appear in your hotel/airline account within a few days thereafter.
NOTE: If you complete your required spending in the last 7-10 days of the statement period, the bonus may not post until the following month's statement, even if the regular per-dollar points post on the first statement. This is normal behavior for Chase and is not worth a phone call.

I had this card years ago and am undecided on whether or not this 100k bonus is worth getting the card again. The bonus makes the companion cert even more valuable, considering how useless avois are for long haul travel. I don't do MS, but could easily do $30k/yr for the bonus and the cert. I could also put that spend on other cards, such as the AA card from citi or any other high bonus card.
My travel goals for 2016 (with a companion) include either JNB, HKG or SYD. Either of those destinations require at least 320k avois RT per person in F. With a companion, the BA certificate is very attractive. The combined ~$3,500 in fees, not so much. I know I can fly CX to HKG using 135k AA miles in RT in F, but I'd need at least 270k AA miles to be able to do it with the companion.
Anyone else in a similar predicament and have any thoughts?
Maybe if you're not in a similar predicament, anyone have thoughts on whether or not this card is a good idea/the easiest way to get to those destinations in F?

If you're MSing most of the spend, then there isn't much of an opportunity cost. I can't imagine many people will be hitting 20k via everyday spend. The redemption values for short-haul flights are really high, so I think plenty of people will a lot of value out of this offer.

Just got approved (instant) for the Chase BA 100K Avios offer. I currently have 3 other Chase credit card products.
For those who need last minute awards on AA short hops (650 miles or less) it is a no-brainer.

So I requested to be matched to the 100,000 point offer after purposefully applying for the 50,000 point offer since it had no annual fee. I probably will not even try to hit the $10,000 or $20,000 thresholds, but just in case something comes up I have the option.
While slightly riskier, I think this is the better offer. No thanks to $95. I was hoping Chase would just give me the extra 50,000 which they have been known to do in the past, but it seems on both accounts I sent this message on that they are really on their game now.

Does anybody know when is the last day I can apply for the 50k/75k/100k bonus promo? The application website doesn't seem to say. If nobody knows, how long have these promos for the Chase BA card lasted in the past?
The reason I ask is because I am working on spending on another credit card for the time being, so it would be most optimal for me to delay the application of this promo for as long as possible.

My wife applied as a homemaker and the application went pending. She has just one chase card open at this time. Is it ok to call recon or should she wait? She used my income and mentioned Housewife in the application. Anyone's spouse had this problem? She did get approved for Amex everyday earlier today and 2 other cards late last month.

My wife and I charge about $30k yearly for just our household and personal expenses. When I was doing heavy business travel that was an additional $25k/year.

Chase seems to be really loose with the approval of these cards right now. Did a round of apps for my husband 6 months ago and included BA when it was at 50k. At that time did PRG, Barclay, and then did a Southwest and BA. Both Chase cards were denied, and recon said more than 5/24 blah blah blah. At that time, I hadn't done very many apps in his name, and some of the 5 were AU on mine. Even though I argued that, the answer was still no. Fast forward to 2 weeks ago, and I do another round of apps for him. I was being pretty aggressive and did Amex HHonors and SPG, Citi HHonors, Barclay Arrival+, Discover, and decided to throw in a Southwest, but not holding out much hope. To my surprise, all were approved except Barclay (forgot to lower credit line before new app). Eight days later, did the Citi ATT Access to get a new IPhone for the new Discover promo, instant approval on that. Needless to say, I was pretty happy with the results...and then I see the BA 100k. I'm not ready for my next round, but was pretty confident that hubby wouldn't be approved with that many new cards in the last 2 weeks. Since he won't do another round for 6 months, decided to risk the hit just to see. Applied yesterday and it went to pending, called automated line this afternoon and get the approved, your card will be there in 7-10 days. I was shocked. For reference, His Experian, which Chase pulls here, shows 12 HP, 7 of which were in the last 2 weeks. Last month, Amex showed his FICO as 746, but the declined letter from Barclay showed it as 701. Time to start building it back for the next round, but for now, I am thrilled with the pile of miles and points.

Data point:
Was just auto-approved for this card. At least for me, Chase does not seemed to have an issue with the number of open accounts I've had in the last 24 months or the number of inquiries (9 in the last 6 months). Before this app, I had opened 2 personal and 3 Biz from Chase (UA, Marriott Biz, UA Biz, Marriott, and Ink Plus in the last 12 months). My last app was on 8/31 and was auto-approved (it was part of an AOR). In addition to my Chase accounts, I have also opened another 16 accounts from other banks in the last 24 months.

So would it be possible to apply for the AF waived card and get the 100k offer matched by SM without being charged an annual fee?
