Oh no

My first 50k points posted today but they don't count towards CP. I hope this isn't really bad!!!

EDIT: False alarm - they are counting towards CP. Phew! My mistake was looking at the tier progress indicator. Apparently CP isn't a "tier" in the strict sense of the word. It doesn't build upon A-List Preferred - instead, it's whole different program. That's both interesting and a bummer, considering I was hoping to use A-List Preferred to get a 100% point bonus on all of my flights!

Hmmm, that is weird as other people are stating they are counting. I had 50k post on 1/5/2012 and they counted, I have another 50k set to post tomorrow or Thursday.

Are you sure you looking in the right spot? CPQP, not the A list.

................ and I have a dilemma.

I don't know if I should apply.

Positive factors
1) 50K miles at $1 spend

Negative
1) Not many direct flights from NYC
2) $69 fee
3) Southwest
4) No international routes.
5) Chase ...... rather hold that application pull for a better return

Better than $800 value? That's hard to beat. Of recent offers, only the Capital One 100k and AA 75k offers beat this one, IMHO.

NSX .... yea if someone gave me $800 in my pocket, great .... my issue is that Southwest doesn't really have any routs I would need going from NYC. Otherwise ... great offer for those that live in CA, Chicago, etc.

Actually it's _better_ than $800 in your pocket. Point bookings are freely cancelable and refundable into your points account. Compare that to purchased tickets which are reusable but locked to the traveler name. Points bookings are not locked to a passenger name. And the points don't expire as long as you have some earning activity. This makes the points worth more than cash.

I converted my first 50,000 points to gift cards for:

Marriott 4 $100 cards
Mortons Steakhouse $150
Outback Steakhouse $50

This conversion took place when the bonus redemption was in place.
Today, 50,000 = $500 in gift cards. Subject out the fee and you still net over $400 in gift cards.

Can anyone tell me if they received regular points for their annual fee, (ex 69 points). It shows up in a different category (fee instead of sale) on my statement so I'm wondering if it'll count. I'm trying to keep up on how much more I need to spend to hit the $10k.

Thanks!
