It is simple math.
The 2025 number is a false number that includes HK Express. The 2019 number does not include HK Express. Looking at their leet plan. CX will have less widebodies than CX/KA did it 2019 until at least the year 2027. |
I was scrolling and on the CX Destinations wikipedia, ADL is listed as resuming 2 Jan 2025. Did I miss something? Assume its just wikipedia being random?

UO is expanding Cathay Group capacity to Penang with its own daily starting November:
https://www.aeroroutes.com/eng/240815-uonov24pen CX already flies the route as well. |

I see some staff grumblings on UOsecrets on the scheduling.
Seems like they have a spare plane during late hours & want to just shove it somewhere |

No surprise, couldn't really be much worse for both pax & crew

Was recently on the CX evening flight from CGK with a similar timing. I suppose one logic is some people might want a red eye e.g. to maximize a workday or weekend in a destination and to be back at work the next morning after trying to sleep on the plane. Worked slightly better on the 5h haul from Jakarta than it would on the 4h length of this flight though.

UO currently serves 2, 3, and 5. If 1 and/or 4 return, they also seem like good UO candidates.

I wish they would. I mean it’s not a bad idea to engage UO on these low premium routes, but not everyone would like to fly on LCC, especially the status pax. At least that is one reason I’m trying to avoid UO and choose CX or other OW members instead.
