How are the cabin crew going to serve a tray through such a small gap? Are they going to have to lift it in over the wall? I wonder how many people are going to end up wearing their meals instead of eating them 🤣 TBF there is more space than the picture suggests.

In my experience, "suites" aren't that narrow in person. I don't think the cabin crew will have any issues serving the tray.

djsflynn any ‘Initial Thoughts’ or something piece in the works at ExecutiveTraveller?

Ta, was aiming to have a story of this morning but I had to reallocate my time to several other articles which had a more immediate and more pressing deadline.

The seat image a few posts above obviously isn't in the full upright position, you can see that the seat base is forward, hence the small gap between the seat and the console

Thanks for the explanation! I was also wondering this when I saw one photo showing the "bed extension" but couldn't figure it out where it came from!

Btw, do you know if the bottle holder under the armrest still exist in Aria?

9:50
will show the armrest mechanism

Are those Bamford bottles metal? or just plastic like now?

One more important question: Aria only?:(

Maybe they will roll it out to all long haul flights early next year together with Aria's long haul debut.

cxwaterboy Oct 17, 2024 10:11 am

I hope they'll roll it out sooner rather than later. I guess we'll know within the next few weeks.

Also, apart from the orange and light green colours, is there a beige one?

Not a fan of such cramped legroom...feels claustrophobic even though it might not be that tight.
In contrast, NH new J has huge legroom and feels like a F seat.

The left side angled wall might be a problem for people with longer legs who want to stretch out.

The bulkhead seats are gonna be very popular as those will prob have much more legroom, similar to the AF seats

It's definitely tighter than the old Cirrus seats. I wonder why they didn't keep the large footrest on the A350

It’s likely the screen is too large and heavy to make it retractable. But I agree the footrest looks tight, which abolishes one of the major advantage of the old Cirrus seat.

If CX use ANA's style (the room) there will be much fewer economy seats, I can't think of any seat that suits CX's needs at the moment. That is why they need to sacrifice foot rest area.

1. Plastic
2. Don't know

Anyone know why they changed the colour from the bronze Pier like colours that were on the marketing to the more glossy The Cabin lounge like finish?

They didn't actually 'change' the suite colours, it's more about the lighting.

The suite shell by default is a soft off-white - sorta bone - but with a subtle and slightly shimmery finish, which under very bright white lights at the launch looked stark white and almost pearlescent - but in the cabin it's closer to the natural colour, although cabin lighting changes that a bit.

FWIW, this was one of many complications thrown up by Covid (and industry-wide, not just specific to CX) - when you're developing product you want to get hands-on with all the materials, look and feel samples, examine them in various combos and then under various lighting – and you of course can't do that via Zoom, it's all a very in-person hands-on approach. I know several airlines which had to do a go-slow on development of new product simply because a lot of the development work must be done in person.

The Room is worse in terms of comfort. I'd rather have Aria. Of course, unless the review of actual pax today proved otherwise, A350's seats would still be my favorite.

That’s an excellent question… I did see a bottle holder somewhere but I honestly couldn’t say exactly where it was.

I saw some more photos and it is located inside the little upper cabinet (where they put the headphones). So sadly this is another downgrade - your water bottle is out of reach when you lie down.
