Just out of curiosity, are you able to download the QR E-TKTs on CX MMBs? Do they show the CX heading or something else?

Same here. I have been trying for 2 days and never once got through. I keep getting the busy signal.

Impossible to get through, I just get a busy signal, have tried 6 times. That's why I asked if there was a dedicated first class phone number.

Becuase my ticket was issued by AA on miles, and one segment is on Dragonair, that the e-ticket functionality between AA's system and Cathy's doesn't work; (i.e., it doesn't come back to AA from Cathay with a valid e-ticket number), I have to go to the AA desk to get a paper ticket.
Ran this through to this conclusion twice with two separate helpful agents. So now I head to the airport a couple of hours even earlie in case there is a major snafu and I need a while to sort it out. I think I'm ok because I can see my flight as "confirmed" on Cathay's web site. |
Hard copy of eticket essential
I flew HKG-PEK-HKG on KA yesterday. There was no record of me being booked on the flight when I tried to check in at the airport. Luckily I had my eticket with me and they located me and then reinstated the booking. However, by then someone else had been checked in and given my selected seat. The return leg, however, had no problems. I think I would have struggled without my eticket number though, so take it with you until things calm down.

I think this update has gone quite terribly wrong behind the scene. I managed to got to an agent after being on hold for 50min... well so I give her the booking ref number, for 15min she said "pls wait booking is loading"... this is pretty bad.
if she takes 15min to load my booking (for simple change of date on award ticket) i can only imagine this will remain bad for a while. |

Is this necessary even if you have already done online check in with confirmed seat?

I need to book an award ticket on AA using my Asia Miles (they expire on Feb. 29). Would now be an OK time to try to book the ticket?

Sorry - I should have added: On the online check in, it would let me check in for the return flight but not the HKG-PEK leg. Presumably for the same reason - that the reservation and the e-ticket has somehow become disconnected - hence my airport check in. The service counter (all three of them that were trying to fix my problem) confirmed that I was not the only person with the problem that morning and was because of the system upgrade.
