For having discerned that flattery gets you everywhere with me, please accept the Diamond Hairbrush award for supreme gallantry. The honour, should you chose to accept, will guarantee you precedence over mere mortals in general and most other Muccis - some awarded in haste and regretted at leisure. Still there it is.

Well, I've been called many things before, but never 'rugged, handsome' etc

For puddlehopping, the return from BRR via the request route of Fingal's cave was great

I'd have to agree on flying to YVR for the views of the Greenland ice cap, and also over the bogs of eastern Canada.

HKG is always great when it skirts the Himalayan plateau, and you look out and see the mountains surprisingly close when flying at 39000 feet.

I passed my Geography O Level back in 1978. Despite that, the posting did counjure up a rather nasty image for a few moments!

When BA used to fly direct from Melbourne, the view from 1A over Ularu at sunset, just as the plane banked left was always spectacular. Landing in Mexico is always an experience as well!!!

The best flight is always the one that takes you home after a trip away, so for me that is the run over the Cairngorms and into INV

Approach into YVR, seeing the whales and their blow-hole sprays in Howe Sound is very cool indeed, and trying to pick out the city in amongst all the inlets and mountains.

Approach into LIS from the south, that left 180 over the Ponte 25 de Abril is one of the best.

I was lucky enough to do a jump-seat (pre-9/11) into Funchal - this was around 1988 so not sure if this was on the extended runway or not.

And approach into LHR onto the Westerlies, though as a sarf Londoner I don't dislike the view from the A-side!

Agree that Iran beats a lot (like the most perfectly shaped volcano on the Mount Taranaki and its peninsula between AKL-CHC). Even good with lunch in 10A on LH DXB-MUC.

Really? My uncle used to fly for them, but it's a long time since I have heard the B Cal name.
