BA Holidays Double Tier Points Promotion | 2024 edition

This is the 2024 edition of the British Airways Holidays Double Tier Point promotion which has been extended to BA Holidays bookings for travel completed by 30th June 2025. The previous thread has been archived and will be found here: Double Tier Points on British Airways Holidays bookings [*now inc FROM USA*]

This promotion is only available to Executive Club Members who are resident in the United Kingdom or the United States. The eligibility criteria varies slightly, but significantly, between the UK and US versions of the promotion so do read the relevant T&Cs very carefully to avoid falling foul of the eligibility requirements. It is unclear how the residential requirement is policed by BAH, I suspect eligibility will be based purely on the location of the registered address of your BAEC account.

The UK Promotion
Executive Club Members resident in the United Kingdom can earn double the Tier Points on flights taken as part of a package holiday booked directly with British Airways Holidays for travel to 30th June 2025 . To qualify, you’ll need to book a holiday (flights + hotel or flights + car) of at least five nights for travel before 30th June 2025. Travel must originate and end in the UK. For the purposes of this promotion both Jersey (JER) and the Isle of Man (IOM) qualify as being part of the UK.

The hotel and/or car element of the package must be for a minimum of five nights within the flight travel dates for travel before 30 June 2025. The hotel/car element of the package must be used i.e. the hotel occupied and/or car rental hired for the full booked duration. The total trip length (time between first flight departing the UK and final flight returning to the UK) cannot exceed 30 days. Bookings can only contain one flight departing the UK, multiple journeys from the UK within one booking will not qualify for the double TP promotion.

This promotion does not apply to any British Airways flight only bookings made without a hotel or car or where the hotel or car is added to a booking in a separate transaction.

Bookings must contain British Airways flights including codeshares and British Airways marketed and/or operated flights only. Flights not meeting these criteria within the booking won’t be awarded double Tier Points.

Flights offered as part of a British Airways Holidays package that are provided by other airline partners that do not have a BA flight number will not be eligible. Flights marketed by British Airways with or without a BA flight number that are operated by Aer Lingus, China Southern or LATAM are also not eligible for double Tier Points.

Bonus Tier Points will be awarded separately to standard Tier Points and typically within 14 days of the return flight.

Full Terms and condition will be found in Post 2.

Frequently Asked Questions will be found in Post 3.

IMPORTANT NOTE - UK Promotion:
.
There are currently two different and conflicting editions of the Terms and Conditions posted on ba.com in respect to the UK version of this promotion. The most prominently featured version is the 4 March 2024 Edition, this will be the edition BA will try to bind you to. There is a less restrictive version of the T&Cs dated 24 November 2023 found by scrolling to the very bottom of this page: Holidays 2024 | Book with British Airways Holidays

The 24 November 2023 edition is significantly different to that of 27 September 2023 and 4 March 2024 in that the UK residency requirement does not exist; the stipulation that travel must originate and end in the UK does also not exist. There is also no mention of BA codeshare Aer Lingus, China Southern or LATAM flights being excluded from the promotion. Please proceed with caution and verify with British Airways Holidays if the conflicting editions of the T&Cs are likely to impact your trip qualifying for the Double Tier Point Promotion. You should consider what is written below in the context of this note, I suspect the 24 November 2023 Edition of the T&Cs is rogue.

More discussion and information will be found here: BA Holidays Double Tier Points Promotion | 2024 edition
.

The US Promotion
Executive Club Members resident in the United States can now earn double Tier Points on flights taken as part of a vacation package with British Airways for travel to 30 June 2025.

To qualify, you’ll need to book a vacation (flights + hotel or flights + car or flight + hotel + car) of at least five nights for travel before 30 June 2025. The hotel/car element of the package must be booked and used for the full duration of the vacation package with the flights completed on or before 30 June 2025.

The promotion does not apply to any British Airways flight only bookings made without a hotel or car or where the hotel or car is added to a booking in a separate transaction.

Bookings must contain British Airways flights including codeshares and British Airways marketed and/or operated flights only. Flights not meeting these criteria within the booking won’t be awarded double Tier Points. Flights offered as part of a British Airways vacation package that are provided by other airline partners that do not have a BA flight number will not be eligible.

Bonus Tier Points will be awarded separately to standard Tier Points and typically within 14 days of the return flight.

Full Terms and condition will be found in Post 4.

Frequently Asked Questions will be found in Post 5.

BA Holidays Double Tier Points Promotion | UK T&Cs

UK TERMS & CONDITIONS
There is a conflict on ba.com with respect to which T&Cs are current. If you visit Holidays 2024 | Book with British Airways Holidays and click thorough the Earn Double Tier Points on Holidays the T&Cs on that page are 4 March 2024 Edition posted below. However if you scroll down to the very bottom of the page from the original link there is a tab "Double Tier Points on Holidays - Terms & Conditions" which takes you to a set of T&Cs effective from 24 November 2023. I suspect the link to these T&Cs is a remnant of an old version of the page, updated in error and invalid.

Where there is uncertainly in a contract courts in the UK tend to favour the consumer. Both the 4 March 2024 and 24 November 2023 versions of the T&Cs are provided below.

For the sake of completeness, I have also provided links to the texts of all other editions of the UK T&Cs that have been issued since the promotion began. A big shout out to sayling for having the foresight to grab the text of these T&Cs before they were taken down.

Hi Rich1122 I've quoted your post here so it doesn't get lost. Hopefully someone will be along soon with an answer.

Well this condition really sucks. What percent of US travelers rent a car for an entire trip to UK/EU? And hotels seem to be limited to BA destination cities. So this package is not possible for holiday travel at multiple locations or staying with family. I have never booked a BA package and this offer certainly does not help, unless someone knows how to work around the hotel limitations.

I know it says originating from the US but it doesn't perchance apply to flights from Canada as many companies often include Canada in their US promotions without thinking... ? Alternately what if the trip includes flights like YUL-ORD-LHR-ORD-YUL would that qualify?

Another question is any data points on how it deals with changes? If you book a 5-day trip with a 5 day car rental can you then change the return flight to stay longer than five days and perhaps still qualify?

No, the Canada edition of ba.com does not offer the promotion. Condition 1(b) states “The booking must be made by a US resident” and I suspect that means the traveller’s BAEC Membership Account address must be located in the USA.

It will help some people that you can have, for example, two hotel nights followed by three rental car nights but it is true that you are limited to BA destinations. I don't know whether the phone agents have any more flexibility but I guess they aren't trying to be a full travel agency.

Looks like the T&Cs have changed since I did a successful run last year. I can’t remember the UK resident requirement (although if it’s enforced I can always change my address back to the UK on my BAEC profile as I’m British so no entry issues).

The other thing the rules seemed to have changed is you can’t leave the UK twice in the same trip but when I did my run I ended it with LHR-HEL-MAN which of course is an entirely normal way to get between London and Manchester. So it seems that’s no longer allowed.

So I think the key points are to always check for changes before booking and also save a copy of the T&Cs in force when you booked in case of issues later.

Hi all. Looking for a sense check to make sure I haven't missed anything here. All flights below in Business.

i. I booked a BA flight + car package from London (LHR) to Bucharest (OTP), departing 11/1 and returning 17/1, along with a car rental for the same dates (to hit the 5 night requirement).
ii. I also booked on a separate PNR a flight from OTP departing 13/1 and returning 16/1 (which means I will be spending 13/1 to 16/1 in London).

My questions below:

1. Aside from two overnight stays (as I believe it is now a must to collect the rental car for the entire 5-night duration), is there anything else that I would need to be aware of?
2. I am hoping to make use of the tier upgrade on my next flight, which is on 28/1. Would I have any luck calling in perhaps a few (<7) days after the last flight on 17/1 to ask for the TP to be credited to my account in time for my 28/1 flight?

And you miss another big one (for me) which trip must start AND end in the uk. Not great for those of us who regularly use trips to also reposition to the next place where we need to be…
