Concorde Room - guest upset after being asked to take his feet off the sofa

Young American is kicking off after staff politely asked him not to lie with his feet on the cushions on the sofa

"Seriously? I'm wearing socks!"

"You have no idea how uncomfortable I am!"

Oh the humanity

Well done to the staff member for sure! The person should be kicked out of refusing….

I cannot condone slobbery at all let alone in an airport lounge.

Perhaps if BA reintroduced the Cabanas this kind of thing would reduce. They are not doing anything with the space and all it would take is some new furniture and a good clean.

Sounds like a reasonable request to me too but ideally should have been made in such a way that you (or anyone else) should not have been able to hear it.

Reading the OP, it sounds like the reaction which was overheard, not the request.

not entirely clear to me (in the sense I assumed it could be both if op heard the fairly generic protest but knew what it was to and could say that initial request was polite?) but if so then all good!

Had I been there I would probably have congratulated the member of staff with my address card stating that if there is any comeback I would be more than willing to defend them. I hope that he leaves in a huff.

Just curious -- how did you know he was American?

At a guess because they heard the voice?

There are lots of people who speak "American" English who aren't American.

It's a shame the OP didn't interrogate where the person was really from, but based on recent events in the UK that does present other potential risks
