Hi, Just received email from BA - BA2731 28/09/2020 from LGW to TFS cancelled.

I'm been offered to fly from LHR and have to confirm that on the app.

My question is - how long do I have to confirm it before I lose this new booking etc?

In theory the night before departure, to give time for full ticketing, but you probably best add on a few more days.

However I would advocate people are realistic about their travel plans, given the changing situation. Cash in the bank is very usable, FTVs less so.

Don’t worry, I’m sure it will switch across soon. There are still a fair few destinations which haven’t been moved to LHR.

I have my flight transferred from LGW to LHR, called BA and confirmed that cash refund is not available. Only FTV in this case.

That is absolute nonsense, to put it frankly. You're entitled to a full refund.

Hang up and call again. They cancelled your LGW service and are offering a close replacement via LHR but however you look at it, it is a cancellation.

If anyone else has an example of this (one way or the other), please post it.

I’ve just checked my app for BA2693 on Sunday FAO-LHR, got the message ‘REROUTED’, little confused as all the details are identical?!!?

It just shows that because it was originally from LGW. Nothing unusual or anything to worry about.

thanks for info, thought it was odd as I booked it already when it was LHR! Clearly just a standard message

I've had a flight to Oslo cancelled and it offers a reroute through Helsinki (bonus for TPs!)

I believe that from the UK we can't enter Finland but is anyone aware if we can transit through the airport?

Got the cancellation message about my late September SKG flight this morning - outgoing (on a Thursday) completely cancelled, Sunday return still booked but now to LHR5 ... RFS booking and it was easy to amend the booking for (too) early the following day outbound and a day later return. Hotel is not flexible however (booked in February - who knew then?) so I have asked them to shift it by a day out of the goodness of their hearts. Still awaiting the reply.
