List of Lounges Currently OPEN to BA Passengers (open wiki for details)

This wiki includes details of open lounges accessible to premium (F/J or Gold/Silver) passengers travelling on BA operated services, either within the terminal BA depart from or accessible via airside transfer.

Other lounges may be accessible for passengers willing to transfer landside to other terminals or concourses, although this is generally not recommended due to time constraints as a result of needing to re-clear security. Additionally, some airports may offer pay-in lounges which are not otherwise accessible by BA premium passengers (either temporarily or permanently).

Most open lounges are operating with a limited food and beverage service, and other services may be unavailable or modified.

For opening hours, please check the oneworld lounge listing at https://www.oneworld.com/airport-lounges?location= which is now being regularly updated.

If your airport isn't listed below, this probably means there is no lounge available for BA premium passengers (either temporarily or permanently) - please check the oneworld listing for the most up-to-date information.

I suppose AA could try opening the AC lounge, but LHR is BA's home court..
Yes, it's open as of today. We covered it in a vague sort of way (https://www.headforpoints.com/2021/0...-auto-convert/) but it's definitely open. Not sure about F though.

Thanks.. but baby steps are better than no steps..And one can still order real champagne in a Galleries Lounge even if it's not available for self pour (or at least was an option in the past) .

Just got the info on the BA lounge in T3 - opening hours are 6.30am to 7pm. The food menu has been cut back but will return to normal once BA flights resume. The earliest possible date for BA to move is now internally seen at 17th August but you should expect that to slip.

Hi ,

Thanks for that Raffles. Do you know if it is just Galleries Club or both Galleries Club and First?

Regards

F security in T5 question

Slightly off topic I realise, but is the F Wing security lane in T5 still closing mid-afternoon?

The internal BA doc says Club Lounge but does not specifically say the F side is closed. Given the lack of passengers it would be odd though.

Hello All,

I have done some research, and think i know the answer, but figured i would confirm with the BA experts here.

I am flying BA DFW-LHR-ORK in sept in J. my connection at LHR is long and i would like to potentially get some sleep, without having to deal with going through passport control.....
As i understand, there are no airside hotels at LHR, and the "No. 1 Lounge" looks to have sleeping rooms but they are unavailable on any day i try to book - leading me to believe they are closed. they wont answer the phone also.

So:
1) Does the BA arrivals lounge have sleeping rooms (no mention of them on BA website so assuming no)
2) does anyone know if the No1 lounge sleeping rooms are open?
3)anything im missing??

Thanks!!

BA doesn’t serve ORK so I’m guessing that leg will be a codeshare operated by Aer Lingus.

They depart from Terminal 2, whereas your BA flight from DFW will arrive at Terminal 5. You will need to take a bus, airside, to get between the two and won’t have access to any T5 lounges.

Therefore your only lounge options will be airside in T2 and there are no sleeping options there AFAIK.

The BA arrivals lounge in T5 is landside, and currently closed anyway. There is no No.1 Lounge in T5 or T2, I think the only one is in T3 to which you won’t have access.

So if a few hours’ sleep is an absolute must, you’ll probably have to go landside and book a hotel day room. There is a Hilton Garden Inn adjacent to T2 which may fit the bill, assuming you are indeed departing from there.

IF the arrivals lounge is open at that point there's no issue in leaving airside at T5 to use the arrivals lounge before getting the Tube to T2 for the Aer Lingus flight.
As Ireland is CTA you have to go through immigration control at Heathrow anyway.

This is extremely helpful!!

Yes, i am codeshare to ORK on Lingus...
they had two flights/day and recently cancelled the one i was on leaving a 7.5h transit.

So, to summarize to make sure i understand:
Because i am transiting through LHR, but to somewhere outside UK, i will in fact have to go through passport control anyway?
Because of this, i will have access to BA arrivals lounge, if i wish to use it and it is open (plus any hotel i want, as i am now landside)?
I'm assuming this will now require me to fill out a UK passenger locator form, as i will have no choice but to go through passport control to get to T-2?

Again, thank you all!

Yes, so any connection at LHR whether staying airside or going landside will have to fill in a PLF, so no difference for that regardless of what you do in the end.

The only downside really is that arrivals are where the queues are, so depending on how it it when you arrive it may take a few minutes or 1-2 hours to clear immigration. If you stayed airside and just went to T2 then when you got to T2 you would go through immigration but there is a separate connections section for UK/Ireland flights which doesn't tend to be as busy.

Interesting!
So potentially it would be wise to land, connect from T-5 to T-2 while airside, and go through the UK/Ireland dedicated passport control in T-2.
(Does LHR website have real-time passport control queue times so i can look this up when i land and make a decision?)
Then, once landside and if i wanted to, go back to T-5 BA arrivals lounge or any hotel?

No. once you are through the border via the UK/Ireland dedicated passport control in T2 you will be in the airside departures area and you can't just exit to landside

If you want to go landside realistically your option is exit on arrival on T5 and just hope the queues aren't bad.

If you want to stay airside and not go landside at all then head to T2.
