List of Lounges Currently OPEN to BA Passengers (open wiki for details)

This wiki includes details of open lounges accessible to premium (F/J or Gold/Silver) passengers travelling on BA operated services, either within the terminal BA depart from or accessible via airside transfer.

Other lounges may be accessible for passengers willing to transfer landside to other terminals or concourses, although this is generally not recommended due to time constraints as a result of needing to re-clear security. Additionally, some airports may offer pay-in lounges which are not otherwise accessible by BA premium passengers (either temporarily or permanently).

Most open lounges are operating with a limited food and beverage service, and other services may be unavailable or modified.

For opening hours, please check the oneworld lounge listing at https://www.oneworld.com/airport-lounges?location= which is now being regularly updated.

If your airport isn't listed below, this probably means there is no lounge available for BA premium passengers (either temporarily or permanently) - please check the oneworld listing for the most up-to-date information.

I suspect BA took the commercial decision to close the lounges and furlough the staff for the month, until December 2.
I don't believe it does allow a lounge to open if they are serving food and drink for consumption within a lounge. There does not seem to be a general exemption for airside places which would allow this. Have a look at the law linked to in my posts above, it's possible I may have missed something so if you see anything relevant do post. I have no idea what is happening in the LH lounge or on what basis they believe they can be open.

It is my understanding that this section (15.5) exempts airports, seaports (and the Channel Tunnel service areas):

"(5) This paragraph applies where the restricted business or services is situated at— (a) a motorway service area, or (b) within a part of— (i) an airport or maritime port, or (ii) the international rail terminal area within the vicinity of Cheriton, Folkstone (as referred to in section 1(7)(b) of the Channel Tunnel Act 1987(b)), and that part of the airport, maritime port or terminal area is accessible between the restricted hours to passengers, crew or other authorised persons but not to members of the general public."

ie the premises is open only to passengers and crew - as is the case airside.

I think you need to read it again and understand where paragraph (5) is actually referenced elsewhere. See my posts above.

Btw, as I admit a few posts up, on my initial look I made the same mistake as you and thought it was a general exemption for airside.

"Grab and Go items" can be consumed in the lounge. So not "take away". And the lounge is a "customer waiting area". How very bizarre, but BA are doing their best to get around the restrictions and offer a semi-decent customer experience.

I wonder will the takeaway food & drink actually be better than what’s currently being served onboard

The BA link says "Our Galleries North Club at Heathrow Terminal 5 will be open from 16 November. " It doesn't mention take away only?

Have a look further down that page:

We have listened to your feedback and we’re happy to announce that from Monday, 16 November, we will be re-opening our Galleries North Club lounge as a customer waiting area with a reduced selection of grab and go items.
and on the linked FAQs page:

During the UK national restriction period, you’ll still be able to enjoy your time in our lounge. So help yourself to our grab and go items while you’re there and sit back and relax.

Our popular Your Menu service will return once the UK national restriction period has been lifted and we intend to re-open our Galleries South Club and Galleries First lounges at Terminal 5 as soon as we can.

I was referring to not opening simply as a waiting room with no provisions whatsoever; I didn't think they would do that. They are now in a position to technically offer a small selection of take away items, which can apparently be consumed within the lounge. Best of a bad situation made I think

Am sat in Galleries North T 5.
better than I was expecting. There is a bar serving non and alcoholic drinks.
coffee machines and a buffet point where you can take crisps abs sandwiches.
you can eat at a table in the lounge.
with the numbers it is way to find somewhere to sit.
not the widest selection of crisps and sandwiches but acceptable in the current situation

I’m sat in the lounge now.

The choices are:

Sandwiches:
Tuna and lemon mayonnaise
Cheese ploughman’s
Chicken and bacon (it’s like a sandwich spread version and incredibly salty)

Soup:
Tomato and red pepper (in a takeaway container)

Crisps:
Cheese and Onion
Sea salt

Muffins:
Blueberry or Chocolate
