So the law must allow airside lounges to open and operate business as usual, relatively.
I suspect BA took the commercial decision to close the lounges and furlough the staff for the month, until December 2.
I don't believe it does allow a lounge to open if they are serving food and drink for consumption within a lounge. There does not seem to be a general exemption for airside places which would allow this. Have a look at the law linked to in my posts above, it's possible I may have missed something so if you see anything relevant do post. I have no idea what is happening in the LH lounge or on what basis they believe they can be open.
