I don’t think anyone should be saying things like ‘that will never happen’ about anything in the current circumstances.

with the demise of flymaybe I suspect that the airport would welcome the revenue tbh and not to mention they could probably store and maintain 30-40 wide bodies down here ?

With T3 and T4 likely to close down entirely, there will be ample space to park airframes.

... but likely not at a price BA is willing to pay. HAL is not exactly known for reasonable pricing, however foolish it will make them look in the long run.

Again, people declaring things are ‘not likely because of xxxx’ are probably not at the meetings discussing those very topics.

Nothing should be ruled out here.

Does Heathrow have any obligation to keep at least one runway active for emergency reasons?

In addition to early retirements BA may see this as an opportunity to get some maintenance out of the way.

Heathrow are not charging any parking fees to BA or VS.

I don’t think BA will spend ANY discretionary cash given the current situation.

No, not that I'm aware of.

Italy today has banned all aviation activities apart from search and rescue, humanitarian and military.

If there's nothing flying, one could argue that there's no need for any runways.

In theory, no. But if flights are still flying over, then surely they must have to keep the runways open, just in case?
