I think you're being fooled by the exterior shell, re-upholstered to look a bit like the 789 shell. But everything else is exactly as it was before.

BA need to be careful that they don't potentially risk F becoming 'upgrade class' on this aircraft, as AA's international F frequently is.

Given the refrain which is posted again and again here that BA's F has '30% more space' than other reverse herringbone seats I'd also note that BA's F on the 747/777 makes poor use of the extra space (as an aside I'm not sure how they can both have 30% more space given the 747 seat clearly has much less personal space than the 777 to me). The seat may take up 30% more floor space than Club Suites but that doesn't mean there is 30% more usable space for the passenger - it has zero storage, poorly place power outlets and a lot of wasted space (e.g. by the window). This is before you consider whether there is any benefit to the privacy impact of the Club Suite door.

Indeed, I look forward to that and the sooner the better.

'Usable space' is completely subjective.

Personally, I have little use for usable space. I want space and the feeling of space.

...and even then the lack of usable space thing in F is a myth. You have a HUGE table, which when open still leaves you with a great feeling of space, if you need it... If you don't you easily have enough space to shelf everything else you may 'need'.

Ultimately its this

It was as internal source at BA who shared this.... so unless they are wrong....!

Been sent a couple photos of the refreshed 777 F seat. It's the old seat with some 787 colours

I think post #46 explains the potential for confusion here and looking at the photos it is easy to understand.

I understand there is also discussion that the First cabin on the B788 may be reduced to just 4 seats when those aircraft are retrofitted with the new J suites.

What 788's are planned to have F ?

Oops, that was a typo - I should not post using an iPhone! That should read B789.

Not really, it is a single aircraft that has flown just one flight with its new fitting with a cabin that has just 8 seats.

Yes, it made me wonder on any given day how many FT‘ers are on a BA aircraft in any cabin. Although I believe the OP was on today’s aircraft, so we have one FT’er at least. But I’ll continue to wonder as it will digress from the thread.

Where is the trip report? Where? I can't take this suspense any longer...
