Relieved!

I hadn’t realised BA’s most loyal passengers considered Club World such a trauma! :p

Will Row 1, i.e. half the seats, still be reserved for Gold?

I think the way this tends to work on the 787-9 is that 1A&K are blocked whereas 1E&F are not.

Indeed it might be the first time people won’t moan that they’ve been downgraded (only to J of course)!

Yes, I’d take a downgrade to the new J and 75% refund of my fare quite happily.

Guessing this smaller cabin will make the chance of F Avios reward seats being available even less :(

Yes, to improve profitability

This source of future complaint has long been predicted.

I'm guessing F loses a crew member on this config as a result?

Can I help you Oct 9, 2019 3:12 am

Yes, this crewmember moves into CW.

It should make the CCR far less crowded, eventually. BA is effectively halving the number of F seats it sells.

Every cloud.....

I understand there is also discussion that the First cabin on the B789 may be reduced to just 4 seats when those aircraft are retrofitted with the new J suites.

Sorry, OT but: Does this mean that the inhabitants of the CCR are currently more likely to be flying F than to be CCR card holders?

Yes, the vast majority are those flying in First. I don’t find the CCR is crowded though, yes it can get busy at certain times but one can normally find a space to settle down.

I’ve got no reliable data for this but my guess would be that more than 90% of people in the CCR at any time are F passengers. The number of CCR holders who are in there only by virtue of their card (ie not also on an F ticket) is never more than a handful. Unless, of course, there is a “do” on. :-)

A lot of people have said for a while on Flyertalk they wanted a smaller F cabin.
