Has anyone managed to book those AY flights through a travel agent? I've tried twice and no luck (incl Propeller).

Don't forget that if TPs are important, JFK-LAX and JFK-SFO on the A321Ts are 3-class routes, so if you are on an EU-USA Business class fare, you will be sat in Biz not First for the transcon and will only earn 140 TPs instead of 210 for a normal 2-class transcon.

Hi all, with the recent triple avios promotion am I right in thinking a DUB - HNL with a few sectors thrown in would earn a stonking amount of points or does the promotion merely get you to JFK/PHL and then you're on your own?
Anyone with better info on this?
EDIT: I called and it is only on direct flights. Just so everyone knows. Not bad but still not the discount I'm on the hunt for!

However, trying to choose seats has been 'interesting'!

Just to assist with the decision, can anyone provide feedback on the choice between F on an old LH 767 versus J on the A321T when flying AA?
AS I see it the acceptable ways across the US in AA are the 767 MIA-LAX in F, ( and possibly the 777 MIA-LAX in J?), and the A321T in J.
Can anyone compare/contrast these?
My feedback on the 767 is that while a flat bed is nice and you do get the extra 70TP each way, the lack of direct aisle access and single-aisle config mean that you will inevitably have someone climbing over you or asking you to 'unrecline' your chair, or you will have to clamber over someone, and the flat seat is a little old-fashioned and uncomfortable (worse than CW!!!!) but still way preferable to any 'domestic F' offering in the US.
I have no experience of the A321T - and I'm not certain whether the MIA-LAX 777 is the 77W or another config.
(obviously if the 77W then this is probably the best biz seat around so a great option of the TP points are not needed)

J on A321T or 777s will also get better food as they are treated as premium transcons for food purposes with more choice and better food. That said, all three are perfectly fine for a transcontinental flight.

A321T in J and 772/77W in J are all better and more comfortable than the old 763 F. AA forum has contrasted views on new vs old 763, I tend to prefer the new because of the greater privacy but many find the old more comfortable.

Last week I had "chicken and waffles" for breakfast and on the return I had "chicken sliders"
I tried them both but to me that is not food. I'm not sure what the food is like in F but it's definitely for the American market

I should also add that the new menus for September look like some of the best to date and correspond to AA introducing their new menus on transcons and international flights (having done so on Hawaii flights already and waiting for them to come on domestics which should be in the Autumn), so from that point of view, I'd say that until those new menus come to domestic, the differential will be even bigger between premium transcons and regular domestics food wise.
