Post Gold card holder failed mixed fleet assessment :(

It's a sad day, I have applied for the role of mixed fleet LHR crew 2 weeks ago and got called to the assessment day today. Yes, I am a Gold Card holder, but I love BA as much as I love travelling, so I decided to change carreer and have a go. I must say, the process wasn't easy at all. I was so disappointed when I found out that I failed half way through the day. On the other hand, I am happy to see that BA is really keeping the recruiting standards high.

Oh well, back to the boring 9 to 5 job for me

Sorry to hear you didn't pass.

What did you fail on?

Can you please tell us more about the process, interview and assessment day?

What is your trade?

There were three stages in the morning, first was the role play scenario, which you have two minutes to read the card before interacting with the accessor

Second was the group work, which apparently wasn't hard, but they were taking notes for each word that was being said between the groups.

The third was the multiple choice questions which were really easy for me.

In the end they split the 24 people in two different rooms, one was bad news and we were sent home, and the second one I guess went to interviews in the afternoon which I never got the chance to do.

They do not tell you the reason why you didn't make it. It's just a NO

I currently work with digital marketing.

I think it adds up fine...

I'm a Qantas Platinum and applied for mixed fleet too. Luckily I was accepted and will be starting soon.

Sorry to hear you didn't get through SohoBoy1A You can always re-apply next year.

If they don't tell you later, nothing to stop you asking. Any good company should be willing to give you feedback so you can develop. Good to see someone following an ambition, don't give up if it's what you really want. Good luck.
