normally all BA crew have been good to very good, no matter which contract they are under.

I have found some superb WW crew and also MF crew.

The only thing I would say is that the WW crew tend to appear more confident in doing their jobs.

I have no preference and wouldn't pick a flight based upon different BA crews.

When MF first started their lack of experience showed, now I would say I have had very good experiences with both WW and MF and I am equally happy to fly with either.

So some routes are operated by MF and WW?

I noticed on my recent trip to BUD that there was a Purser on the outbound so that couldn't have MF, and then the inbound we had a Customer Services Manager so that must have been MF!?

LHR-SIN-LHR is an example. BA11/12 is WW, BA15/16 is MF.

That would've been MF and EF. Normally static, however some last minute substitutions occur (standby etc). But you wouldn't have had a mix of EF and MF on the same flight.

Fairly soon the majority of crew will be MF, so I really can't see the benefit in distinguishing anymore.

So after asking questions about mixed fleet etc I have done my research on this excellent forum - and some less excellent ones

I understand why MF and WW do not fly together as they have different rest agreements, but my question is why would you not be able to mix MF and European crews together on the same plane? If say, the MF crew is available to do a 12 hour shift but say the EF contracts limits the shift to 8hrs, what would prevent a crew picked from both fleets to do a pair of LHR-AMS returns together and having neither breach their limits?

Its going to be a good few years before the "majority" are Mixed Fleet.

Mixed Fleet is less than 3000 and with an approximate 20% annual attrition rate BA are busy recruiting to cover the number leaving.

Euro and Worldwide is about 10,000 and few are leaving and many are in their early 30's so have no plans to retire yet.

Obviously in time Mixed Fleet will take over most routes but this will be a good few years I would think.

You can add NBO to the list. I was pleased with the crews on my two recent sectors.

The A380 service to IAD will be MF. The route will also reduce from three to two daily flights, at least for the next winter timetable.

Think MF has come a long way since it first began. I have noticed a difference. They are now far more professional and their enthusiasm really is a breath of fresh air sometimes compared to some of the EF/WW crew. Don't get me wrong they still have their faults and the lack of experience compared to EF/WW does shine through at times.

Wonder how long before BA let MF loose on the LHR-JFK route... long time I think!

Does that mean I could have Alice off 'A Very British Airline' work my flight?

The answer we have consistently had from cc posting here is that there is no mixing of fleets on the same flight - WW, EF, MF, LGW crew, and LCY crew do not mix on the same flight ever and I understand are not allowed to do so.

Please could you confirm NBO is now MF on the 744?
