Mixed Fleet vs non Mixed Fleet routes

Hi

Is there a list of what long haul routes are mixed fleet and which are "non mixed fleet" (not sure what the term is)?

I'm just curious after talking to non mixed fleet crew recently on a Calgary flight, and she said she wasn't going to Cape Town any more because this is now mixed fleet only.

Cheers

It seems that the number of MF routes are increasing quite rapidly. I believe it is close to 50% of the Euro routes now.

It changes quite frequently. Long haul off the too of my head....:

Abu Dhabi and Muscat
Singapore and Sydney (NOT BA11 terminating in Singapore).
Cape Town
Las Vegas
Boston
Vancouver
Los Angeles
Rio de Janeiro
Lagos
Tokyo-Haneda
Seoul
Chengdu

Probably more!

Maybe Chicago and Denver. Is Austin MF?

Correct term for non Mixed Fleet longhaul, heathrow-based crew is"Worldwide fleet" ("WW") crew.

Similar idea, different conditions. They're called SFLGW (single fleet I think) as they all were moved onto new conditions a long time before MF appeared at LHR.

"Single fleet" at Gatwick. They fly long and short haul but have Pursers (qualified on A320 series, 737 and 777) and "Cabin Managers" (CSD equivalent, silver tie) on 737 and 777. Purser can be in charge crew on 737 or 320 series, but manages a cabin (as per Customer Service Leaders for WW or Future Talent CSMs on MF). Cabin Managers are the boss on 777s and can be rostered as in charge on 737 but not A320 series.

I think they do have some MF Gatwick crew now, no? Or is it that some LHR based MF crew have been operating out of Gatwick? They're qualified on 777 and A320 but not 737.

MF crew, which are LHR based sometimes operate LGW flights.
You never get a mix of fleets on the same flight.

no.

there's EuroFleet, WorldWide and MF ex LHR.

Believe LGW crew is "mixed" in that they do l/h, s/h and a select few also do CWLCY but they are not "mixed fleet".

Then there's Citiflyer fleet for LCY flights (though some based in EDI and GLA).

Chicago is mixed fleet again. Was surprised yesterday to see hats on my flight from ORD. One of the cabin crew stated that mixed fleet had returned to ORDlast month (or thereabouts).

What is the impact of having a mixed fleet crew or not on the passenger service?

Most passengers will not notice any difference.

I've had WW crews from "CBA" to "excellent"
I've had EF crews from "CBA" to "good"
I've had MF crews from "OK" to "good"

Most disappointing crew ever was WW. Most impressive crew ever was also WW.

Gold77 Aug 6, 2014 12:33 pm

Am puzzled. What's the interest in knowing which crew is flying where then?

Chengdu and Austin are on the 787 which I believe the new crew are not yet working on?
