I doubt they will bring back anyone that isn’t willing to agree to work with other fleet members from standby.
There are more than enough crew available that will be happy to work together from standby etc. and they are still referring to those coming back as volunteers.
If BA put into action their plan, all crew who stay will be one fleet and working together anyway.

Well let’s hope that One Fleet doesn’t become a reality then.
If they follow the agreement to share the work out equally between fleets I don’t think there is enough volunteers on EF and I can see non volunteers being brought back.

It looks like it already is. I don't see anything that's going to stop it? I'm really glad that Unite and BA are now talking, but I can't see how they'd agree to suddenly drop this given how far they've come.

Well they can roster trips to E/F but top up with M/F crew, so I doubt that will be a problem for them.

As far as I understand the law, they have to consult with the workforce, via the union or direct but once they have consulted, they don’t have to agree with each other. Once BA consider they have consulted, they can just push through their plans, even if the union do not agree.

Indeed. BA can also argue that they've moved quite substantially by introducing the lead cabin crew position and the salary floor option too. I don't see how SFLHR won't continue.

They have hardly moved so far but they will, I still feel that One Fleet won’t happen.

All signs seem to point that BA will soften their stance anything they originally said they won’t but single fleet seems to be an absolutely minimum that it appears BA won’t compromise on (Willie Walsh’s “revenge” for 2010 as some have liked to say!).

Leaving aside the changes to pay and T&C, what would be the issues in the two (three ultimately I presume) fleets working together?

No problem it’s just we want/need different things, EF crew want to be home most nights and live in commuter distances, WW crew do not want to come in daily and live all over the world, our scheduling agreements allow this, MF crew joined knowing they have mixed flying.

Given it’s now the 1st November, this thread is no longer necessary. It was always an interesting thread and this was something very few travellers knew about.

Good luck to the ‘Heathrow Crew’!
