Hello FT, A quick (and possibly silly) question... USA-T3 BA J overnight, upon arrival at 10am ish if wanting a shower/freshen up/breakfast before the onward a few hours later. Are the options use the air-side transfer and head straight to Galleries lounge in T5, or 'land' through immigration at T3 and make the train journey to T5 thereby being able use the land-side arrivals lounge? I'm presuming there's no way to use the air-side transfer but then 'land'/access the arrivals lounge when in T5? No bags so not too much drama to use the train but don't want to bother if others judge not worth it. Thanks in advance!

Yes, go landslide at T3 and use the train. The breakfast is better than GC (more like GF minus champers) and there will probably be a shorter wait for a shower. Then just grab a lift to south security and go to GC when you are ready. If you stay airside it is quite a big hassle to get landside again from T5 (might have to wait up to an hour for an 'escort'). I am still to be convinced that even if you aren't using the arrivals lounge staying airside and getting the bus transfer is any better.

You can use the airside bus from T3 to get to the BA Arrivals lounge, it is the fastest way. Just go to Flight Connections at T3, and then the bus to T5. On arrival you can then go to the UK Border (e-gates or agents' check) and out via the baggage hall, this is right by the bus stances. Best leave by baggage carousel 9, then use the Orange lift to the lounges. Note that the 2 Orange lifts do not share buttons, so you'll have to press both.

This works if HBO or with baggage through checked to elsewhere, and assuming you have entry rights to the UK. If you have to collect baggage there is no alternative to going landside. More details of the T5 layout can be found in the Connections guide for T5 in the Dashboard.

After using the lounge, you must go landside to any onward connection, unless the next departure is from T5.

CWS- some of us were also expecting a photo of you using aforementioned bath, with judicious use of rose petals / bubble foam to cover the necessaries. #Disappointed.

Funnily enough, I did think of a "feet and ankles" photo, but I thought LTN_Phobia would shift the entire thread into OMNI if I did that. So I didn't even take the photo. Bit lame, I know.

Well that could be kind - it could have been a severe banishment depending on the level of exposure

Then for the Concorde Breakfast room - entrance:

The entire area is set up like this:

There are only about a dozen tables or so, it's not big. Breakfast itself - note no black pudding, not that I asked for it. The menu is the same as the main CCR breakfast menu, see the thread in the dashboard.

Pardon me, if I'm a little confused.. Is this the BA T5 Arrivals Lounge we are viewing? Access to CCR Breakfast Room and menu?

Yes, the Concorde Breakfast Room is within the Galleries Arrivals lounge.

Access for arriving BA First passengers, Concorde Room Cardholders and Premier members.

Thanks for the clarification. It's been awhile since I've been there.

What is available for OWEs (in my case AA EXP), as the AA Arrivals Lounge in T3 is going to be closed for a remodel for 5 months, starting the end of this month?

You will be able to use the main Galleries Arrivals area which features a full breakfast self-service buffet (as opposed to the waiter service in the CCBR). The lounge also has many shower rooms, washrooms, a PC area and coffee bar seating area. The interior design is very similar to the Galleries Club departure lounges.

You won't be able to use the Elemis Travel Spa (BA only).

Thanks. Might still be worth the trek over if arriving early enough on an AA flight and when my hotel room might not be ready.

The corridor with the infinity bath cabanas. Note the double thickness doors, which allows for the discrete exchange of clothing for pressing (you mention this to the receptionist, who then arranges this to happen).
Stupid question but can you hand the attendant a creased shirt and they will go and iron it? If so.. Does it take long?

Thanks

They press it rather than iron it, so it's not to quite that standard, but otherwise yes. The receptionist will ask if you need it. If using the bath you will get them back before the ablutions have been completed, if taking a shower - I guess it takes about 10 minutes or so.
